Seamen Recruits are here getting medical treatment for minor injuries. FIT DIV is also in this area.

It's hard not knowing! That is the purpose for this group. Most likely if you are here your SR has had trouble keeping up or not passed a PFA due to some sort of minor medical issue. Often it stress fractures bringing SR's here. Know this when you don’t get a call that is a very good thing. Calling them is not a good thing and it can negatively impact your SR to have his or her “Mommy“ calling! They are harder on them in this DIV than any other. They want them up and out. The best thing you can do is sends tons of mail. Send scripture and motivational mail. I know my SR said reading the Bible was considered a sign of weakness here. When you get a tearful call motivate. Stay positive and encourage you SR. This is a small detour to greatness and getting the I'm a Sailor call! Recruit family and friends…“Navy mom friends are the best“…to send your SR mail as well. NMH for you all!!

So happy for you Navy2011Mom! "Pain free running": that phrase made me tear up! Love that!
Navy2011Mom, Great news about your SR! It is good to know he is running pain free now. Continued prayers for him as he does his medical and final PFA's then BS21, Sharon
We actually did get a phone call on Saturday. My son said that because of the base-wide security "thing", he wasn't able to run the medical PFA last week. So, I guess that sort of puts everything off about a week. He is hoping to run the 1500m medical PFA today or tomorrow, then do the final PFA (with curl-ups, push-ups and the 1500m run) on Wed, then (hopefully) BS21 Thurs/Fri (do they have BS21 on anything other than Mon/Tues?). He said that nothing was definite though, so we are holding off making plans to go back there.
He said that he does not have pain now when running (thanks to all of you for your prayers for him ;)) so things are definitely looking up there. Now we're back to just waiting for that "I'm a Sailor" call. If his situation ends up being anything like Patrick's, after finishing up it's possible he will be in THU for a week or two waiting for orders, so that would certainly give us plenty of time to go visit him. I just can't wait to hear!!!
Thanks again, to all of you, for your support, friendship and prayers. I can't tell you how much it means to me. You really are the most wonderful group of women!!
Amen! Thank you, Lord. (and thanks, Patrick's Mom)
Good Morning Ladies! Lifting prayers for a great week with wonderful news...phone calls...and letters for all! May the Lord continue to extend His perfect healing touch over each of our SR's.
Good morning, Ladies! Well.....not exactly good since I also did not get a call or letter. :-( So, maybe "beautiful morning"! How's that? Because of the lockdown, I didn't allow myself to get my hopes up too much either. But, we can try again this week, ugh, and think how happy our SRs will be when they get all of our letters finally delivered to them. Of course, I'm just assuming that "nothing in, nothing out" meant mail also. Hang in there moms!
And, yes Jill, that list was awesome! I printed it out, added a few of my own little notes in the spaces and now there is a little continuity when I read a post and refer to the list! Thank you so much! I used to be organized and meticulous like that, but now I can't get from "idea" to "action" without getting easily distracted or just plain lost! Oh well. I'm glad I have this group to help curb my regressions! Have a great week, All!
Sharon,
I am going to think positive and hope we all get a phone calls today/tonight! I just thought I would get a letter this week for sure. Are they only allowed to send letters out once a week? We usually would get our letter toward the end of the week like Thur or Fri. I am now anxious to find out if your son moved to phase 4. I will be praying for him as well as all of our SR's esp. now that I know everyones situation!
Melissa
Hi Ladies!
Did anyone get a phone call or letter this week? I did not:(. Just wondering why? My son has been okay with writing so far- we have been getting one letter per week but not this week. This past week was his first full week in RCU and with so much down time, I am wondering why he did not write? Jill I am a newcomer that list you made is great! When ever I read a post I have to go back and look up who is who and this will make it much easier so thanks!
Melissa
Hello all! No phone calls or letters this week, so don't have much to report, but thought I would share the list that I made for myself of who is who, what stage, injury etc...I think it might help the newer mom's on here to get "caught up" a little easier. This list is not exhaustive, by any means, so feel free to add to it, or tell me if I missed anyone, or got any information wrong. I didn't put any real names, cause wasn''t sure who would be comfortable with that and who wouldn't, also tried not to put "too" much personal info, you guys can add what you want. Wish I had room to write everyone's complete story. Also hoping this list will help us in our prayers to be more specific about individual needs....
Patrick's Mom: Son is now in submarine school in Connecticut, after a long haul in RCU. Fabulous success story, and a very heartwarming story of a recent visit, if you go back in the notes a little.
Callie: Daughter was moved to FIT, then sustained stress fracture.
SharonW: son in RCU just over 2 months, stress fractures on both legs, waiting anxiously on word of Phase 4. Sharon is a former Navy nurse herself, and her son doesn't like to write letters, much to her dismay...
BoomMom: son with possible fracture and perhaps heart issues, she's opting for the fracture.
Barbydahlzz: another success story! Son is out now, in San Diego A-School. Barby also served in the Navy, and her bubbly encouragement is a wonderful thing.
Navy2011Mom: Son is in Phase 4, has been injured twice, she is very anxiously waiting for the news that he is done with PFA & Battlestations. She just got a huge box of letters sent home, so that is a very encouraging sign.
AngieT: Daughter just recently moved to Ship 05, and will be discharged and will get to go home in approx 1 month. She has already begun to redirect her goals, and is thinking of nursing school now. Onward and upward!
Phillies: Daughter is a sailor! She is currently in THU, which means they can communicate by computer and Skype. WooHoo! Gives us something to look forward to!
Zach'sMom: son in RCU for muscle sprain and knee injury.
Jacque: Daughter is in phase 2, stress fractures in both legs.
Paces: Son in RCU since October with a broken fibula, he passed his PFA in December and is on medical hold due to re-injury.
Matts Mom: son in here for a sprained ankle
Misdes: son has stress fracture to femur. He's in Phase 2.
Lesliet: son is home now, discharged with option to re-enlist.
Me: son has broken pelvis/hip, is in Phase 1, and here for the long haul. He made it till 1 week before graduation. Estimated recovery time 8-10 weeks, and we've been here for approx 2 weeks so far.
