Seamen Recruits are here getting medical treatment for minor injuries. FIT DIV is also in this area.

It's hard not knowing! That is the purpose for this group. Most likely if you are here your SR has had trouble keeping up or not passed a PFA due to some sort of minor medical issue. Often it stress fractures bringing SR's here. Know this when you don’t get a call that is a very good thing. Calling them is not a good thing and it can negatively impact your SR to have his or her “Mommy“ calling!  They are harder on them in this DIV than any other. They want them up and out. The best thing you can do is sends tons of mail. Send scripture and motivational mail. I know my SR said reading the Bible was considered a sign of weakness here. When you get a tearful call motivate. Stay positive and encourage you SR. This is a small detour to greatness and getting the I'm a Sailor call!  Recruit family and friends…“Navy mom friends are the best“…to send your SR mail as well.  NMH for you all!!

Finally....   Well, no letter, but we did get a call on Saturday evening, and (as usual) everything I wanted to be sure to ask never was asked.  He is hoping to be moved into Phase 4 shortly (he won't know until this week), but once he gets there he thinks he will only have 17 days left.  I certainly hope he's right in that.  He sounded so tired that it was hard to think about any of my questions.  He did say that he would try to write, so I guess that's good.

Angie...   I'm so sorry to hear that your daughter is having such a difficult time.  She really seems to have it so tough right now.  Being in pain and having to negotiate the separation must be really difficult.  My thoughts and prayers are with you both.

Sharon...  YIPEE!!  Phase 3!!!   It won't be long now (hopefully.)  I figured that your son would probably know mine.  My son has been there so long now and watched kids come and go, that he feels like a fixture.    Let's see, your son is a 90 days at RTC, it looks like my son is at day 139 at RTC today -- YIKES!!

Jill...  Hope you're doing okay today.  I know not hearing from them is hard, but hopefully you will this week.  As they always tell us, "No News is Good News", and I guess that is right, it's just hard.  I'll be thinking about you this week and hoping that you hear something.

Barby and Patrick's Mom...   As always, THANK YOU for the support you give to all of us.  You really do encourage us to look forward to the day that we'll be where you are.  Please know that you are appreciated!!

Have a great rest of the day ladies!!

-Janet

I HATE when work gets in the way of reading and posting here.  Will post as soon as I really have a bit of time at work...

Oh yeah, almost forgot, I sent some books, so tell your recruits to bug mine for reading material if they want.

Comment by Jill on March 12, 2012 at 10:28am

Good morning everyone.

Angie, I sent you a FB message, but you make sure to let us know how your daughter is doing, we want to stay with you!

Patrick's Mom: Texting...oh what a blessing!  I'm so thrilled for you, and can't wait till the day I can text mine again.

Sharon, Barby, and Navy2011: Your posts and your stories keep me going.  I am so glad you are here.  No matter what I'm doing during the day, it stops when one of you writes something,  :)

Sharon, so glad to hear you got a call, and things with your son seem to be progressing in the right direction!

Angie, so sorry to hear this news about your daughter.  May the Lord's healing hand be over her, and also bring her peace and comfort in the midst of this uncomfortable situation.

Janet, I so remember thinking the same thing about phone calls.  I never remembered everything I wanted to ask him.  Lists are GOOD!

Jill, hoping your SR is adjusting to RCU and will heal quickly!

Hang in there everyone - your SR WILL be out of there eventually.  Patrick is still at Great Lakes awaiting orders, but we texted quite a bit last night.  It was a real treat!

I joined ship 05 - the ones that are coming home.   Someone said their son from Dallas flew home, but they charged his Navy Account...   I guess I will see.  I appreciate all the support on here.   I have my ups and downs but I am trying to stay positive.

Our SR called us yesterday afternoon.  He said he didn't know how the Petty Officers decided who would get to go to the Exchange yesterday.  He had an hour to chat and I think I asked all of my questions.  We didn't use the entire hour with him as he wanted to call his sister to chat and wish her a happy birthday.

He was returned to Phase 3 for 2 weeks and said he should move to phase 4 on Friday (March 16). He said he plans to start off slowly with phase 4 and pointed out that tomorrow will mark his 90th day at RTC.  He did mention he knows who your SR's are, Navy2011Mom and Jill.

He described a typical day for us and they have much more down time than in a regular division. I sent him the first 4 books in the Game of Thrones series.  He had started reading the first book before, and was able to finish it this week and is now half way through the second book.  Each book in the series is 900-1000 pages long.  I mailed the four books together in a priority mail flat rate box last Saturday afternoon and he got them Tuesday.  It was wonderful to be able to do something for him!

AngieT - I am sorry to hear your daughter is in pain. And she'll come home by bus? Wow.

Well, now that he called I won't expect a letter from him this week though will continue to write to him everyday.
