It's hard not knowing! That is the purpose for this group. Most likely if you are here your SR has had trouble keeping up or not passed a PFA due to some sort of minor medical issue. Often it stress fractures bringing SR's here. Know this when you don’t get a call that is a very good thing. Calling them is not a good thing and it can negatively impact your SR to have his or her “Mommy“ calling!  They are harder on them in this DIV than any other. They want them up and out. The best thing you can do is sends tons of mail. Send scripture and motivational mail. I know my SR said reading the Bible was considered a sign of weakness here. When you get a tearful call motivate. Stay positive and encourage you SR. This is a small detour to greatness and getting the I'm a Sailor call!  Recruit family and friends…“Navy mom friends are the best“…to send your SR mail as well.  NMH for you all!!

Hi ladies.  Haven't been on here in a few days so was delighted to log on to see Phillies now has a Sailor!  Congratulations Phillies!  So happy for you and your girl!

My son has told me that they have the opportunity to advance in their training even though they are in RCU.  In order to do this they must have good behavior, and stay on track.  Once well enough, they might be put in a division for the day to do Firefighting, Gas Chamber or Battlestations.  If they do this, it's my understanding they may graduate without an actual PIR.  My son says he would be fine with that because it would get him out and on to A school sooner.  It really is a waiting game with our children in RCU, and we don't know until things happen many times which way they are going to go.  Praying lots of prayers for healing for all our SR's and lots of prayers for patience for us Moms & Dads while we wait...

Thank you for the updates.  My SR has written at least weekly up until he went to the RCU.  Our last letter from him was written the day after he arrived there.  It would be nice to know how he is progressing, if he's friends with your sons, just stuff a mom likes to know.  My husband keeps reminding me no news is good news - ugh.

Hi SharonW -- I got two letters last week, but no phone calls.  Not sure about a lockdown, so I'm not much help there.  Sorry!!

Has anyone heard from their SR recently (I haven't)?  Also, last week something was written about a 'lockdown' in the unit.  Does anyone have any information about this, such as, what happened, how does it affect our SR's, etc?  Thanks.

Monchita...  Wow, your SR is in Phase 4 and running.  It shouldn't be long before you get the call that he's out of there and back to finishing boot.  Praying you hear very very soon!!
