Information

RCU SHIP 04 DIV 741

Seamen Recruits are here getting medical treatment for minor injuries. FIT DIV is also in this area.

Location: RTC Chicago, IL
Members: 203
Latest Activity: Jul 20, 2023

It's hard not knowing! That is the purpose for this group. Most likely if you are here your SR has had trouble keeping up or not passed a PFA due to some sort of minor medical issue. Often it stress fractures bringing SR's here. Know this when you don’t get a call that is a very good thing. Calling them is not a good thing and it can negatively impact your SR to have his or her “Mommy“ calling!  They are harder on them in this DIV than any other. They want them up and out. The best thing you can do is sends tons of mail. Send scripture and motivational mail. I know my SR said reading the Bible was considered a sign of weakness here. When you get a tearful call motivate. Stay positive and encourage you SR. This is a small detour to greatness and getting the I'm a Sailor call!  Recruit family and friends…“Navy mom friends are the best“…to send your SR mail as well.  NMH for you all!!

Congratulations on the phone call.  I know that made your day.  Does he go back to the doctor on the 5th? You certainly don't want to rush it. By this phase ours was in much better spirits as well. They are given a little more flexibility and are able to get out of the RCU for a while to do some training. Let us know.  Still praying.

thanks ladies... im not expecting a call since he just got there wednesday or thursday.. i have googled his injury and talked with a dr friend of mine... since i don't kno the extent of his injury, no idea on how bad it really is... ugh frustrated to no end... BUT on the good side... he's where he needs to be and not trying to push thru it and injure himself to a point where surgery or even discharge could happen...  SO i'll just sit, wait, pray ... chat with everyone... and wait and wait and wait...   HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE

I am going to try to take Friday off to take him to the airport. I am not looking forward to that. But, we will enjoy every minute. He is with his dad gallivanting right now.

We didn't hear from ours as much during Phase 4 because he was really working to get through. Keep your chin up. We are sending lots of prayers your way. Let us know if you get a call.

Happy New Year everyone.  Hope you all have a safe New Year's Eve. Ours made it home yesterday. He was able to get an earlier flight. He looks so good. He has gained 12 pounds. He needed to though. He was only 130 when he left. Prayers to all of you. Wishing to hear good news soon. It won't be long for those in Phase 4. Keeping the blue lights burning.

These last 2 phases are a bit out of wack because she only needs to complete her runs and Battlestations. But the runs take place on Monday and Fridays which happen to be holiday days until after the new year. She has been there since a few days before thanksgiving.
