Seamen Recruits are here getting medical treatment for minor injuries. FIT DIV is also in this area.

It's hard not knowing! That is the purpose for this group. Most likely if you are here your SR has had trouble keeping up or not passed a PFA due to some sort of minor medical issue. Often it stress fractures bringing SR's here. Know this when you don’t get a call that is a very good thing. Calling them is not a good thing and it can negatively impact your SR to have his or her “Mommy“ calling! They are harder on them in this DIV than any other. They want them up and out. The best thing you can do is sends tons of mail. Send scripture and motivational mail. I know my SR said reading the Bible was considered a sign of weakness here. When you get a tearful call motivate. Stay positive and encourage you SR. This is a small detour to greatness and getting the I'm a Sailor call! Recruit family and friends…“Navy mom friends are the best“…to send your SR mail as well. NMH for you all!!

Kaleigh'sGramma... That is great that you have set up a facebook. I am like Doggroomer who has resisted fb until recently. I found out it is easier to stay in contact with our son in Bahrain. Also, Doggroomer, even though our son has been out of RCU and PT over a year, we still have to continuously tell him how much we are proud of him. Long story short, he had a Spec Ops contract and lost it after he broke his leg, not only once, but twice. He had to reclass and has not been happy. He cannot do what he wants and it has greatly frustrated him. He is scheduled to be home for leave on Aug 29th. Looking so forward to seeing him. Good luck and we are praying for all our SR's in RCU and FIt. Susan
You won't be sorry, Jane! Looking forward to "meeting" you there. My granddaughter has been in RCU since June 13 recovering from 3 stress fractures. Your son will probably meet her at some point in PT. Just in case you don't yet have a mailing address for your son, it is Ship 4 Div 2341, 3600 Ohio St, Great Lakes IL 60088-7103. The admin will probably approve you sometime tomorrow, so I'll see you over there tomorrow evening.
Doggroomer...There is very little activity on this site, but there are a bunch of us on the closed Facebook group site. A really super bunch of wives, moms, and grammas (me)...come join us. We all have SRs in either RCU or FIT, and we celebrate their accomplishments, encourage those who are having hard times, and everything in between. https://www.facebook.com/groups/437960142931727/?hc_location=stream
Doggroomer... It has been a while since I have been here. I am so sorry to hear of you SR's injury. Ours had a complete fracture of his fibula. It took 7 months for him to get back to full duty. Wow! 3 minutes for his call. Ours was only 30 seconds. He was able to call after he saw the doctor and usually on Sundays if everyone behaved. He should be calling with the address. I don't have it anymore. But, he will need lots of encouragement and support. He will begin to doubt himself and feel like he has let you down. As much encouragement and support as you can give him will be needed. It is a tough place to be. Depending on how bad the fracture is will depend on what he is allowed to do while in RCU. We will be praying for you and your SR. Maybe someone who has been here recently can share the address. It has been almost two years now since ours was there. But, I will share that this is an awesome place to find support for yourself. Keeping you and your SR in our prayers. Let us know how he is doing.
ProudNavyMom2...Praying for her that she isn't returning too soon and that all is well. Haven't been here in a while, but try to keep up with everyone. It is such a trying adventure when your SR is in RCU. The lack of contact and knowing what is going on. Our sailor is currently in Bahrain and doing pretty well. His leg still gives him some trouble occasionally. Hope to see him soon as he is scheduled for leave this fall. Prayers to you all.
Got a call today. My SR's bone scan came back negative with a stress fracture. They are sending her to a new division. So it's back to BC for her. her new PIR date is scheduled for 9/6/13 if all goes well. Hopefully i will learn more with another phone call. My prayers are with all the SR in RCU.
Comment by doza48 my daughter fracture her ankle just one week before PIR she was put on ship 2341 for about six weeks, could not do her run, but she finely did it on it on 6/3/13 and is now on her way to battle station. Thanks to faith and courage.
