It's hard not knowing! That is the purpose for this group. Most likely if you are here your SR has had trouble keeping up or not passed a PFA due to some sort of minor medical issue. Often it stress fractures bringing SR's here. Know this when you don’t get a call that is a very good thing. Calling them is not a good thing and it can negatively impact your SR to have his or her “Mommy“ calling! They are harder on them in this DIV than any other. They want them up and out. The best thing you can do is sends tons of mail. Send scripture and motivational mail. I know my SR said reading the Bible was considered a sign of weakness here. When you get a tearful call motivate. Stay positive and encourage you SR. This is a small detour to greatness and getting the I'm a Sailor call! Recruit family and friends…“Navy mom friends are the best“…to send your SR mail as well. NMH for you all!!

Rec'd a message to join this group but this appears to be for recruits that have been delayed due to medical issues. My son only arrived last night. Not sure why I was given this group to join? Any ideas?
Christina, I'm sory to hear you daughter is being shipped home. I'm very new to this group, my daughter has two stress fractures in her legs, and was at 4-1, going to PIR in three weeks. I'm more of a wreck when now than I was when I left the first time. I got her first letter since joining ship 4 yesterday. It was the saddest letter I've ever read.
Just got a call, my daughter is 4 weeks in, shin splints turned to stress fractures. We only had a two minute call, I got her new address. She said she would be in physical therapy, and rejoin another division to finish bootcamp where she left off (4-1), and will not be graduating in three weeks, but some time in the future. I'll continue to write every day, encouraging, uplifting, of course. But could someone clue me in as to what else goes on in RCU? I'm nervous, and she is hurt and heartbroken. Any advice / ideas would be appreciated. I'm not sure where to look.
has anyone had a phone call?
I just posted this on the FB group page and I wanted to be sure I put it here too. Paces, one of the Mom's on here who was a huge supporter to me, told me I would always feel this way and she was right:
Hello all,
I just wanted you all to know that I am still thinking of and praying for all of your SR's. I know what it feels like to have a child in RCU and not know what's going on. I know the frustration you are feeling and even though my son finally made it through, I never stop thinking about the many others who are still healing and for those who are just arriving in RCU/FIT. Our experience of Navy Boot Camp is unlike the rest...and they can't fully understand what it's like. My heart goes out to each and every one of you. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and soon enough this will all be behind you. Stay strong and know my prayers are with each and every one of you & your SR's. ♥
I am looking for any answers. There are no set days in FIT/ RCU that our SR's are getting calls. Has anyone heard from their loved one recently?
The Navy feels if they don't give the sick and wounded calls to their family, this will motivate them to get better! What a concept.....
Has anyone in RCU or FIT talked to their SR's?
