It's hard not knowing! That is the purpose for this group. Most likely if you are here your SR has had trouble keeping up or not passed a PFA due to some sort of minor medical issue. Often it stress fractures bringing SR's here. Know this when you don’t get a call that is a very good thing. Calling them is not a good thing and it can negatively impact your SR to have his or her “Mommy“ calling!  They are harder on them in this DIV than any other. They want them up and out. The best thing you can do is sends tons of mail. Send scripture and motivational mail. I know my SR said reading the Bible was considered a sign of weakness here. When you get a tearful call motivate. Stay positive and encourage you SR. This is a small detour to greatness and getting the I'm a Sailor call!  Recruit family and friends…“Navy mom friends are the best“…to send your SR mail as well.  NMH for you all!!

has anyone had a phone call?

I just posted this on the FB group page and I wanted to be sure I put it here too. Paces, one of the Mom's on here who was a huge supporter to me, told me I would always feel this way and she was right:

Hello all,
I just wanted you all to know that I am still thinking of and praying for all of your SR's. I know what it feels like to have a child in RCU and not know what's going on. I know the frustration you are feeling and even though my son finally made it through, I never stop thinking about the many others who are still healing and for those who are just arriving in RCU/FIT. Our experience of Navy Boot Camp is unlike the rest...and they can't fully understand what it's like. My heart goes out to each and every one of you. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and soon enough this will all be behind you. Stay strong and know my prayers are with each and every one of you & your SR's. ♥

I am looking for any answers. There are no set days in FIT/ RCU that our SR's are getting calls. Has anyone heard from their loved one recently?

I talked to my husband for about 45 on the 14th! He is hopefully in phase 4 now!! I'm just anxious to know what happens after he's completed therapy!

The Navy feels if they don't give the sick and wounded calls to their family, this will motivate them to get better! What a concept.....

Has anyone in RCU or FIT talked to their SR's?

Comment by gotattitudesd on March 15, 2013 at 1:19am
I received a call today, 1 st call in almost 4 weeks. She said they changed the day for calls to the 3 rd Thursday of the month. She wasnt sure why she got to call today but did not ask questions, lol. My daughter is moving from RCU to FIT. She completed phase 4 and her medical PFA. Just final PFA and BS. This has been quite the journey. 6 weeks in RCU, 7 weeks in BC. I haven't seen my daughter since Dec 13, can't wait for her to finish, and get the "I am a Sailor "call.

calebzmom...I am so sorry about Caleb. As Mom&Dad4MattJ said "He can do it". It is difficult I know, but you do get to hug him in just a few days. I can't wait until Aug. Our son will be coming home on leave for 30 days (we are praying). Hugs and Prayers to you both

Sorry about Caleb, the good part now is he will get to come home, know what he is up against to prepare for next time.  He can do it.. Just keep encouraging him.

Our son passed his run after having stress fractures.. takes determination.  Hang in there!  Prayers for both of you.
