It's hard not knowing! That is the purpose for this group. Most likely if you are here your SR has had trouble keeping up or not passed a PFA due to some sort of minor medical issue. Often it stress fractures bringing SR's here. Know this when you don’t get a call that is a very good thing. Calling them is not a good thing and it can negatively impact your SR to have his or her “Mommy“ calling! They are harder on them in this DIV than any other. They want them up and out. The best thing you can do is sends tons of mail. Send scripture and motivational mail. I know my SR said reading the Bible was considered a sign of weakness here. When you get a tearful call motivate. Stay positive and encourage you SR. This is a small detour to greatness and getting the I'm a Sailor call! Recruit family and friends…“Navy mom friends are the best“…to send your SR mail as well. NMH for you all!!

Jolene - you sound so much better! That makes me happy. Keep your faith in God and all will turn out great! Just keep remembering - it is wayyyyy harder on us than it is on them. Stay busy, stay positive, believe!
Hugs to all!
My daughter was due to graduate on the 31st of August but has now been transfered to RCU for stress fractures. Of course i am sitting here waiting for news and it is not very forthcoming. I was hoping to hear from her on Sunday as she said that she would get a phone call but no phone call came, i dont know if that is good news or bad news. i know that she is frustrated and irriatated and hope that she herself can get some answers. ugg... this is just so hard sometimes.
I cannot express enough what your support...your prayers, your comforting words, your encouragement...mean to me right now. I have made it through an entire day without crying. I have been able to speak about my son's issues and request prayer from those here who love him without even a crack in my voice. I have been able to focus on my job and get a lot accomplished. I have given up wondering what God is up to and am just trusting Him. God is good...all the time...
Thank you again!!!!
Jolene and all of the other Moms out there - I really do believe this is harder on us than it is on them. Sure, they are bored - but they know what is going on day by day. The Mom's on the other hand don't (and the not knowing is what is driving yall crazy). Mom's are usually in control of things, and now - the Navy is in control. Many prayers are going out to all of you and your sr's. Soon this will be only a memory and they will be off to A School. Please try not to stress to much, it is really unhealthy. Hugs to all!
I pray every day that the part of the discouragement he cannot handle will be transferred to me. I truly believe God is answering that prayer. I have never felt this discouraged or sad...EVER. I feel so helpless. My son is hurting and there is really nothing I can do to help. I have sent him a letter every day, and I will continue to do so. I have given his address to many people who have promised to write him even a short note. I have printed out sudoku pages, pictures...but it all seems like not nearly enough. On my way home from shopping today (we have to drive 70 miles for major groceries, etc.), I realized this may very well be the easy part of "our" new adventure. How helpless will I feel when he's on a sub at the bottom of the ocean? *sigh* He will be 21 the middle of November. I wonder where he'll be for his birthday...
My 19-year-old daughter is a college cheerleader for the second year. She was with me today and said she could hardly stand seeing me so sad. That made it worse! The last thing I need is for HER to have to be upset, too.
My next child is a senior this year...playing football, taking college classes, and all that...
Then, there's the 7th-grader with the heart condition...
Yes...I've gone on and on...and I have reached this conclusion:
I have SO MUCH to be thankful for. God will truly see us all through this rough patch. There is something one of us is needing to learn through all this, and Justin may just be the unfortunate pawn. If I'm the one needing the lesson, I better get with it! :)
Justin got to call us this evening. It was so good to hear his voice. He does sound frustrated about all the sitting around doing nothing, but he says it's just something he'll have to deal with. I am sitting here wondering WHAT IN THE WORLD I can do to help time go faster for him.
Mash...What have you done to help your son? Have you been able to send him books?
Just had a call from my recruit (Cory). He said they are under quarantine for another 20 days due to the chicken pox out break. He might graduate with a division or go straight to A school. He left May 30th and was going to graduate July 27th, except had stress fractures in both legs. One day at a time, is all we can do for the moment. Sending prayers out to all of our recruits, and have a wonderful holiday weekend!!
My SR said she would be able to call every week, but I didnt get a call today. I told her that I heard she could only call every two weeks, but she said otherwise. This is only her second week there. I did get a 26 minute call last Sunday, did anyone get calls today?? Still hoping, but doubting it now.
