It's hard not knowing! That is the purpose for this group. Most likely if you are here your SR has had trouble keeping up or not passed a PFA due to some sort of minor medical issue. Often it stress fractures bringing SR's here. Know this when you don’t get a call that is a very good thing. Calling them is not a good thing and it can negatively impact your SR to have his or her “Mommy“ calling!  They are harder on them in this DIV than any other. They want them up and out. The best thing you can do is sends tons of mail. Send scripture and motivational mail. I know my SR said reading the Bible was considered a sign of weakness here. When you get a tearful call motivate. Stay positive and encourage you SR. This is a small detour to greatness and getting the I'm a Sailor call!  Recruit family and friends…“Navy mom friends are the best“…to send your SR mail as well.  NMH for you all!!

BoomMom...   You crack me up!!!   Actually, I would DEFINITELY have been packed last week sometime -- probably by LAST Friday, then I would have changed my mind about a gazillion times on what I wanted to take and wear while there.  You really do have me pegged!!!

Patrick's Mom...  Karen, I'm so glad that you're feeling well and are on your way.  You'll have to let us know what the graduation is like.  Since we missed the PIR, I'm anxious to hear what it's like -- if it's super formal and has all frills they have for the normal PIR from RTC.  Big hugs for Patrick!!!

Phillies...   What FANTASTIC NEWS!!!  I'm so happy she found something else that she wanted to do and decided to stick with the Navy.  She's been through so much for so long that this moving on to A-School must be such a relief for her (I'll bet she was tired of looking at the THU walls.)  I hope she enjoys the next phase of her training.  She definitely deserves smooth sailing from here on out.

Since it's Thursday, hoping for letter in the mail for everyone.

Oh, and I forgot...how could I???!!!  Congratulations to you and your daughter Phillies!  Sooooooooooooooo happy to see your wonderful news!  Hope all is smooth "sailing" from here on out!

We're on the road to Connecticut, and I'm typing on my hubby's laptop.  Not an easy endeavor in a moving car!!!  I'm feeling pretty good and am so thankful for any and all prayers you wonderful ladies lifted for me.  I KNOW they made the difference!

I will definitely give Patrick a big hug from ALL the amazing RCU Moms!  Can't wait to see him in his dress whites for graduation tommorrow.  Since he didn't go through the traditional PIR ceremony from boot camp, this graduation is really a BIG DEAL for us!  I'm so thankful to be well enough and on our way!

I'm sorry I haven't had time to comment the last few days.  Jill, my heart has certainly been with you and your son.  I was so sorry to learn of his re-injury, but so glad to hear of your phone call and the fact that you had family over that he was able to speak to.  Talking with those who love him most, I'm sure was an encouragement to his heart and soul!  Thank you God!

To those new Moms, WELCOME!

To you "old" Moms, you're all the BEST and I so appreciate all your loving wishes for me and Patrick.  Hopefully, I'll have some time to update you daily - perhaps when hubby is in the shower!!!

Have a good weekend all!  Continued prayers for ALL your SR's.

Hugs,

Karen

Great news, Phillies! It was surely an agonizing time for both of you. But I'm glad that the next leg of her journey has started, and I'm also curious as to what job she has chosen. So, if you're able to share, please do! Hugs for both you and your Sailor!

Hey Sharon! How are you and OUR young man? ;-) I think of you a lot! I'm managing......:-P

Karen!! Are you packed?!? Janet would have been packed by now! (just teasing, Janet!) How are you feeling, Karen? I need you feeling well enough to give him a hug from the rest of us, too, okay? Each. <grinning!> Congrats to you, too, Mom!

Phillies, wonderful news and thanks for sharing it with us.  What A school will she attend?  It has been a long journey for your daughter and you.  I'm glad she is finally leaving THU and moving on with her Navy career.  Best of luck to her in her future endeavors.  Warm regards, Sharon

Today my daughter finally gets to leave THU (temporary housing) and travel to her A school.  She left home 8 months ago and has spent her navy career so far in THU.   Thank you to all of the Momma's that have prayer and given kind words of encouragement.  e never know what kind of curve ball life is going to throw us - and I appreciated your support more than you will know!  So she is getting on a plane and leaving for Mississippi.  Poor girl spent the winter in Great Lakes and summer in Mississippi :/   What doesn't kill us makes us stronger - right?

Stay strong Momma's (even through the depressing times)

Congratulations on the call Tracy.  Did your SR sound better?  With the letter and the call, hopefully everything is looking up now.  Moving to Phase 3 is a great milestone.  That means he will be walking the track and increasing the physical therapy to get ready to move to Phase 4 where they start running again.  Hopefully only a couple of few more weeks before he moves to Phase 4 and finishes RCU.  Great news, Tracy!

LindenEmry...   I'm sorry to hear about your son's injury as well, but am glad you found the ladies at this site.  I had the same address Sharon shared with you here.  Hoping your SRs setback is only a couple of weeks for you both and glad to hear about his determination to finish up.

Jill...  Glad you got the call, but sorry to hear about the new injury.  Praying for you both and hoping for the best possible outcome.

BoomMom...   I keep hoping that you get a call soon!!!  I know you're really keeping everyone here on a positive note -- you're the BEST!!!

MK...   Any word from your SR?

Sharon...   Hope all is well with you and your son.  How is he doing?

Karen...   Only 3 more days!!!  Hope you're feeling better and are ready to go see Patrick!  Give him a BIG hug for me!!!

Jill - I just got through looking over that reading list and your son is right--they sure "look" boring! But what do I know? I'm not the one stuck in RCU. I wonder if they took away all the books that were already there, but are NOT on the list anymore? Well, I'm thinking of you and your SR always.....<3  Amen to that previous post, too!

LindenEmry (what a pretty name) - I'm sorry to hear about your son's injury, also, and that he cannot PIR with his division. That's a real downer for these SR's. But, I'm glad that his diagnosis is only two weeks of rest, or was that a prognosis? Well, prayers for Brion to beat this setback!

Still no word from my boy....it'd be about 5:30 p.m. there........sigh...

LindenEmry: When I spoke with my son yesterday, he did say that they are allowed "some" books, as long as they are on the Navy approved reading list, but he did share that that list is pretty...ummm...boring, I didn't think to ask whether Mom's could send those books, or whether they just maintained the already approved list there...sorry.

Sorry to hear of your son's injury too, but welcome to our group while you are here!
