It's hard not knowing! That is the purpose for this group. Most likely if you are here your SR has had trouble keeping up or not passed a PFA due to some sort of minor medical issue. Often it stress fractures bringing SR's here. Know this when you don’t get a call that is a very good thing. Calling them is not a good thing and it can negatively impact your SR to have his or her “Mommy“ calling!  They are harder on them in this DIV than any other. They want them up and out. The best thing you can do is sends tons of mail. Send scripture and motivational mail. I know my SR said reading the Bible was considered a sign of weakness here. When you get a tearful call motivate. Stay positive and encourage you SR. This is a small detour to greatness and getting the I'm a Sailor call!  Recruit family and friends…“Navy mom friends are the best“…to send your SR mail as well.  NMH for you all!!

Phone call !! And on a Sunday! Hope the rest of you are getting them as well.  Everything is good, progress is slow on the physical end, (but that's probably a good thing).
BoomMom: Yours and mine have managed to make a chessboard out of some random materials, and that's been occupying some of their time.

He says he misses the guys who have moved on too.  Not much else in the way of news, just always so fabulous to hear his voice.  Not a clue why they allowed phone calls on a Sunday, but am eternally grateful.

Sharon, so glad you finally know, and it's only a few short days too!  You'll have to tell him that he should be extremely grateful that we can only love and hug him from Cyberspace, cause otherwise, he'd be completely smothered.  :)

Janet, so so happy on your news, for both your sons. And thank you so much for the heads up on the medical records!!  What would we do without you?

BoomMom: You just keep sprinkling away, love that stuff.  (And by the way, I looked at that "confetti" word 6 times myself, and it didn't look right to me either.  I am near sighted to begin with, now I'm far sighted since I'm older, so I can't see a blooming thing.

Karen: Your wonderful posts keep hope alive.  Thank you!  And so glad you had a wonderful Easter.

Ok: here's the plan: will talk to everyone again on here Saturday night after all our wonderful phone calls.

My son called to let us know he will be home Tuesday.

I hope everyone gets a phone call this weekend as it seems it has been several weeks since anyone commented about getting a phone call except for Debra.

Hoping for calls and/or letters for all this weekend too.

BTW, Tammy, that test my other son did was the NAPT -- I think that's the Navy Advanced Placement Test or maybe Nuclear, I'm not exactly sure.  Anyway, he passed it, so he was planning to pick up a new contract with the Navy this afternoon.  I guess we'll see.

Still haven't heard anything from my other son since his news on Wed.  Hopefully, he's still on track for shipping out Monday.

Have a good weekend, ladies!!

Whoa! It feels like I'm in the Twilight Zone! Did anyone else receive an influx of notifications? Probably all the old ones that were missed!? And then I come on here and a bunch of posts are missing!? Yikes!

Anyway, I just want to send magic dust to all of you and your SRs sprinkled with letters and calls! ~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~ I survived one more week even though no letter, but there is still a chance for a call tomorrow, and if no call, I'll be optimistic all over again on Monday! sigh. Have a great weekend everyone!

Hey ladies,

I'm sorry not to respond more often...our computer at home is on the fritz, so I only get to come on at work a couple days a week, or if perhaps my hubby brings his laptop home at night (which he doesn't often do).  Sooooo, I feel like I have lots of catching up to do when I finally get here!  (Believe me, it's not for lack of interest!)

Janet, THRILLED to hear Garrett will soon be on his way, but so sorry to hear about the "medical record" hold-up.  Good grief!  Couldn't someone have figured that out???!!!  Anyway...you'll be hugging your son soon, and I cannot wait to hear ALL the details!!!

boomMom, your posts always brighten my day and make me feel so good.  Thanks for being so positive and interested in what's going on with me and Patrick.

Oh, and Janet, thanks for asking about our Easter visit.  We did indeed have a wonderful visit with him over Easter weekend.  My husband and I traveled with my parents and stayed at Navy Lodge in Connecticut which was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and outstanding!  I also stayed at Navy Lodge in Great Lakes which I thought was VERY NICE, but the one in Connecticut is definitely newer and upgraded.  We got to go out dinner with Patrick on Saturday night, picked him up for breakfast, then onto church on Easter morning, and back to Navy Lodge to play games for the afternoon.  At night we went out to dinner again, and alas the time was all too short.  Monday morning we had to leave for home and that was the day his actual submarine schooling began.  Can't wait to go back for another visit.  I'm not sure if we'll get there before he graduates from his Basic Submarine Training which is June 1st, but if we can, we definitely will!!!  I think I may have misled you all when I said how much he likes his "new home".  I just meant his location in Connecticut.  He's in barracks type housing (2 roommates) which kinda looks like college dorm buildings.

Sharon, so glad to hear you're hearing from your son and he's keeping you abreast of any new developments.  Praying he'll be home in your arms before you know it and that he'll be very blessed whatever he chooses for his future, whether it's the Navy or not.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend, which includes a phone call from your beloved sons!

Hugs!

Karen

Yeah girls, the same thing is happening to me.  I'm not getting notified either....

Comment by SharonW on April 26, 2012 at 9:10pm

boomMom, I am so glad you posted about the notification thing as I thought it was only happening to me!

Comment by boomMom on April 26, 2012 at 8:15pm

I think this notification thing is broken! I usually wait for the emails to prompt me to come to this board, but like today, I come here on my own (because I'm chronic that way) and there's a bunch of new posts and messages! WTH! Oh, well, no harm done......this time.....:-\

Sorry to anyone who didn't  receive a return comment from me---I must've missed it! But I got yours, Janet, and I'm looking forward to finding out, too! Good thing your time zone is not too far from mine....

Comment by Navy2011Mom on April 26, 2012 at 6:53pm

BoomMom...   Yes, I guess this test he's taking is different.  He's been studying up on chemistry and physics, so it's beyond me, for sure!  I'll be sure to find out more tonight when he gets home and let you know what it is.
