Thanks!  I was able to see my Sailor at GL and at the Airport yesterday!  How wonderful he is!  I will keep praying for all who are still working towards graduation -- they can do it!  Best to all.

I finally heard from my SR yesterday - he's still in RCU.  His original PIR was 7/1.  He only has to do the run and B/S.  He says he will not PIR.  Just graduate and go to A school.  He hopes to run on Friday.  The 100th anniversary pictures were wonderful - bittersweet, though, I'm proud of all the Sailors and proud of my SR for hanging in there - even when the going is tough.  Thanks for thinking of me.

Sharon how are you doing?  I'm worried about you have gotten very quite!  I know hoe hard all of this is on a mother and a SR.  Have you heard from him and when is PIR the 8th?

Sharon - No, we did not see our son before A school.  He completed all of his final requirements from RCU rather than re-join a new division.  He was week 5 day 1 and was a seciton leader in his division.  He knew, at that point, that to join a new division with only 2.5 weeks of training left, he would be an outsider and would not have the time to adjust to a new division or know his shipmates.

 

We cancelled our plans and reservations and learned a valuable lesson about military life, just because it's what we want, doesn't mean we get to see them when we want and we have to be ready to make changes to our plans.

My sailor was married at the time, so once he arrived at A school and had his indoc and housing briefs, he came home for 3 days to get my DIL and move her to SC.  That was the only time we saw him until he graduated from A school and took 10 days leave.

 

mama bear - ditto what Parrothdgal says.  The doctors will NOT release them to training until they feel that the SR is ready.  Mine had a knee injury and was not allowed to run or jumping jacks, etc.  He could do crunches and some pushups.  When he phased up in his therapy, he could work on the elliptical until they released him to put pressure on his knee.

mama~ Trust that after 100 years the Navy has a plan! I know it seems senseless but it not that the RDC's do care. All the SR's have Dr. orders for what they are allowed or not allowed to do. My SR had PT everyday some in a pool some not. She did NO exercise or walking at all! You see the Dr. weekly and if you get to feeling to low there is a counselor there as well. My daughter was so broken emotionally but I’ll tell you that’s a very big part of boot camp. If your SR is doing physical activity that’s a good sign! Your SR will want to get out of there fast and WILL!

when she got to BC she was on a different ship but she has been on ship four since May 14th or 15th, yah I worry about the emotion state, but how do they expect them to get better if they have to continue to do strenous exercises such as jumping jacks. leg lifts, and climbs
