Hey Cola's Mom!!! You are in the correct place. We are so glad to have you in here with us! I am very anxious to get home and check my mail!!! I will let you all know. Send me a personal email and let me know Cola's last name so I can let my son know we're on here together. I will send you my son's last name so you can do the same too. =) Did you get "the box" yesterday?

I hope I am in the right place, my son is on SHIP 9 DIV 303 and PIR on Sept. 10th. I just got my formal letter today w/that info. My son noted that he's "DOING OK". Of course I can't wait for the 1st real letter. I love the count down to PIR, it is posted in our kitchen too.

Welcome Hun !!

Well I just got my form letter. Graduation date is def Sept 10th. Heart sank though when I read that he HATES it there ( underlined) but it was written only after five days there. I think that will change a lot after a few weeks or at least I surely hope it does. Sigh.....

Who will be at the meet and greet?
Comment by Maureen62 Proudmomofasailor on July 21, 2010 at 12:13pm
Meet and Greet is at the Ramada Inn in Waukegan IL...( about a few miles from the base)...its on the night before graduation from 6-8pm. They give out drink coupons and have food etc....a nice way to meet and if I am not wrong, the room are divided by division numbers too.
Go to hotels.com and put in waukegan IL...it will give you an array of hotels in the area and should tell you how far from the base it is. I think I might stay at the Ramada Inn, only cause its where the meet and greet is and we have a big family and they have family suites with three queen beds !!

I am anxious to get the form letter as well. =) I will change the PIR date in our group if we need to. I am usually peppy too, but I've not regained mine yet.

Once we get the "official" PIR date, we'll need to make our reservations. What do you know about where to stay? What is this "meet and greet" I keep hearing about. Our recruiter mentioned a family night on the Thursday night. So, does that mean we'll get to see our sons on the Thursday night before graduation on Friday?

lol Lynn,.....im usually this peppy, but havent felt that way for about a week or so , so its good to feel it again. I can actually see a light at the end of the tunnel through all of this. I received the box yesterday and was okay with it. I was sadder reading sons letter to his big brother asking him to just come home cause he missed him. :(
I am hoping to get the form letter today with the " official" graduation date on it. I also cant wait to see Davids three lines he can write !!

Good morning Maureen and Michelle! I am well. Have you both received "the box"? I was glad to know why his pants were rolled up. I guess we'll wait on the form letter now. From what I gather, they'll be allowed to write us three sentences! We should have more people in our group. How do we get them in here? I've searched for "ship 09" but it doesn't give results of but a few of us.

Why are you so excited Maureen?
