My son and his gf are flying in from Atlanta and just found out plane lands 6;30 pm which is also the meet and greet. Waaah ! With any luck I can scoot in towards the end...if I can negotiate Midway to Waukegan with speed. At least our hotel is in Waukegan.
Kathyann... thanks for the update. By PIR he ought to be one rock solid sailor eh ? :-)
TY everyone! He just called.
Him: Hi Mom...you want the bad news?
Me: I'm a crisis therapist..I live for bad news. So sure Anthony...*sigh* lay it on me baby!
Him: I didn't pass my PFA. Want the good news?
Me: Oh sure, why not...dork! LOL
Him: I passed PFA and set a PR on my run! I do ------ ---- Thursday night with FIT and graduate with my Division. But I will be sitting in the stands. I may need a nap and Mountain Dew. Did you get my last letter where I talked about my savings plan?
Me: Really? That's your worry? Your savings plan? Good Lord kid! I have gained 5 lbs. and 10 wrinkles! And yes, got your letter. We are very proud of you!
So, I am carrying my blue candle with me to Chicago. I doubt they will let me light it on the plane :). I may bring it to the meet and greet Thursday night, and will keep (probably against hotel policy) burning until we leave for PIR Friday morning.
I will burn my blue candle for your son too Kathy. Thanks for the update. He will be ok and I'm anxious to meet you all TOMORROW night! Woot Woot!! Now, I hope my son gets his dental paperwork all figured out so they give him his orders and he gets liberty this weekend. Uggh! I told him that he needs to have dental call him Mom to tell her everything is ok! LOL I'm sure thats not going to happen!!
will keep my blue candle burning tonight as well.
so here is an update on my SR: last week, he missed PFA by three push ups. He spent a few days in IT, passed his push ups, sit ups, and then not his Run! He had previously passed his run "piece of cake". Anyway, he passed his run at 0430 today, and is participating in "the big test" tonight with some others who did not get to go with their Divisions, and another Division. RTC said he should have no problem, and be in his dress whites on Friday. SO my "I am a Sailor" call will come about the time our plane is landing in Chicago. I will have to change my message so that he knows we are "on our way"!
SO NOW I AM OFF TO GET ANOTHER BLUE CANDLE!
Thanks so much for your prayers! See you all at the meet and greet!
