Anita - I love your 21 days!! My step daughter went in last year as "undesignated". You may want to join another group here on N4M's. Angie, who works for the Navy, is very helpful and knowledgeable in giving advice on how undesignated people can advance.
21 DAYS!!
Twenty-one days from now we will be in your neck of the woods awaiting to see you perform for your PIR.
Twenty-one days we will be beaming with pride in the knowledge that you have gone above and beyond what you ever thought you could achieve in these short 8 weeks.
Twenty-one days you will know what it means to say, “I am a Sailor in the finest fleet in the world – the United States Navy.”
Twenty-one days from now you will achieve what many have thought of doing but never had the courage to do.
Twenty-one days from now you will stand amongst the newest group of Sailors who’s graduation day was the first class after the 10th anniversary of 9-11.
Twenty-one days from now you will be a completely different woman than you were on July 20th when you took your oath at MEPS.
Twenty-one days from now you will take the next step into your future as a United States Sailor and enter A School, the sky is the limit!
Twenty-one days from now you will start a path that is one of honor, courage and commitment to a great cause – The United States Navy.
Be as proud of what you have achieved as we are of you as our daughter. We love you very much and no matter what – we are here for you!
LOVE ~ Mom and Dan
The picture that they take in BC in their whites how soon do we get them. Or how soon do they get them to send to us ;)
I will definately be praying for our troops on the east coast!
Why, thank you, Anita! :-)
tygerh: You are very welcome! I have not been on as much this week...my older son (27) moved back in on the spur of the moment after the condo he was renting was in a short-sale...little notice to get out. sigh...he sure left my house 2 yrs ago with alot less stuff than he returned with! YIKES! I have never been so tired and I'm asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow. I'm a workout/3 mile a day walker person and in good shape...but hauling furniture up stairs, etc....I'm thinking I'm getting to old for this! I have lived alone for 2 yrs now (almost) so have to adapt here...but happy to have my "little boy"...who isn't so little!....back with me for a while. A mommy always loves that!
Please pray for my sailor and the others in the Norfolk/Newport News area. They are in harm's way of this hurricane. I'm not too worried...we are hurricane veterans down here...however, their offices in Newport News (ship in repair) IS a floating barge...uh oh. My son is considered "essential personnel" during the storm so will have "on the front line" duties---pray for all of them. They are also moving all of the massive ships out of Norfolk in preparation. I would imagine that will be a sight to see! Pray that it all goes well. Thanks, ladies!
LOL I keep telling my husband that 21 days sounds better than 3 weeks.
BoysRUs - I too could definitely "hear" a difference in the tone of my sons letter. He seems to be so much at ease now. He said that he doesn't feel like he has changed any but that their RDC's say that they have. I am grateful that he has not been sick.
diannep - Thanks for always being there to answer our questions! It is much appreciated.
