Ok, so I see by anita's post that WTI is Weapons TURNOVER Inspection!  Not Training.  My memory isn't what it used to be!  :-)

My Sailors are preparing for their first real hurricane experience. Please keep all our Sailors and everyone else along the East Coast in your prayers as Hurricane Irene hits this weekend. Thanks

thanks so much tygerh- I am so glad you love the ribbons. The flags really do make you think about others in the family who have served :-) When my son goes I will get to have the flags on my ribbons as well. My kid's dad was in the Army, 82nd Airborne, but I didn't have the idea of adding the flags when I first made them to wear to my daughter's PIR.

I am not sure if all the Post Office's have these but ours just added Cards that they sell for American Hero's and some of them are really awesome. You should all check them out. One of them brought tears to my eyes and made me feel so proud :-)

2 Letters Today!    LMAO ~ my SR giving me h*ll for sending her the words to The Village People's song "In the Navy"..., "HEY, thanks for puting that stupid song in my head (LOL).  W sang that song during P.T. one day, but we can't sing it anymore.  The swim test I passed but when I had to do the 25' plung, my nose bled (how embarrasing!)  I keep on changing racks because our RCPO's keep switching and we lost 2 recruits because they wanted to write love letters to each other.  And we got ITed because of them.  The days are going by slow but the weeks fly by.  I'ts hard to believe we are all halfway done.  I've been working with a simulated 9mm pistol during watches and the weapons turnover inspection, which we will have in less than a week.  Hell week starts in a few days, I hope I'm ready for all the inspections and classes.  I miss you all and hope to hear from you.  Love, -------"

Got a letter from him!  He wrote it on Saturday and said that this is hell week and will be crazy busy. He said that they have roughly 5 inspections, their second PFA test and simulated and live fire. He sounds very positive.  He says for us to pray for him and his division they all could use support and prayers!  Praying for all our SR's!

Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got an AWESOME letter!!!! SR said its been a crazy busy week but he doesnt know why they call it hell week cuz he's had a lot of fun this week with all the stuff theyre doing....always good to know! Also said he "exceeded " personal fitness test, and got a perfect score on the WIT and uniform inspection...he's a happy camper and it shows in the tone of his letter!!! The biggest woohoo I got from him is that 2 more weeks till they get to practice for Battlestations!!!!!  I'm such a happy Mama Bear right now! :D God grant me patience while waiting for PIR...I'm so excited I could just jump out of my skin!!!!

sheshe...Im praying that your SR is back into the swing of things now and feeling better!!! That's always upsetting to hear because us Mom's always want to be there to help them!

Sailors who become quite proficient at knot tying, sewing, and use of the marlinspike can be known as marlin spikes, or marlin spike seamen. The body of knowledge that includes knotting and splicing is called marlinespike seamanship.
