Week Three

A Recruit Division Commander conducts "Instructional Training" to correct substandard performance during boot camp.

Week Three consists of hands-on training. Recruits learn laws of armed conflict, personal finance, basic seamanship, shipboard communication, and Navy ship and aircraft identification. Recruits also take their first physical training test, performing as many sit-ups and push ups as they can in two minutes and a 1.5-mile (2.4 km) timed run, the times for the run, and the amount of push-ups, and sit ups are determined based on the recruits age, which ranges from 18 to 34. Dog tags are distributed this week, and recruits receive their first paychecks.

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security)
(Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips)

This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way.

The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter. If you scan in a picture of an article that contains your Sailor’s last name, make sure to black it out first. If it is an online Navy article or news article that you are reposting, do not publicly identify the mentioned Sailor as your son or daughter.
• No Sailor addresses, emails, or other contact information. The exception to this rule is FPO addresses.
• Specific dates, times, and locations regarding current or future deployments and ship movements. Do not post dates more specific than by month. Do not post specific ports of call, deployment bases, or future destinations.
• Details regarding training, equipment, and current or future operations or missions. (But Boot Camp is okay.)
• Names or numbers of the Recruit Training Command staff.
• Ways to cheat the system. Navy will see it as a breach of security when you share things like how to bend the rules. We don’t want to jeopardize the safety of our Sailors.

ok guys, just a note while touring everyone's comments. We all miss our loved ones, but please do NOT use first or last names here. This could get your SR into trouble. This site is monitored by there COMMANDERS. They can be made fun of or have to do extra and not just your son. They could make the whole DIV do extra. Please do not use your SR's name in the user id for this page either.
