sheshe, that was a great idea..writing letters as a family. I think I'll steal your idea tonight! It really is therapeutic for me to  write letters...helps me get thru it too!

Hey everybody - my SR's recruiter told me his ship/div was 12/310.  I got his box Tuesday, but no letter yet.  He shipped 7/21 and I am just beside myself to find out when graduation is and to confirm I've been sending letters to the correct address.  I know, I know - no news is good news - easier said than done!!!  I'm going nuts here waiting.

tina:  Most of the extras get in. Kids 12 and under do not count as part of the 4 guests (if you have any that young).  No way would they make your 13 yr old stay by himself in the visitors center.  Don't worry...he'll get in.  The Navy has to cut off the guaranteed number to get in at 4 to ensure there is room.  However, sadly, so many SRs have no one there for them so those spaces are freed up...and like in my case, we only had 2 guests there.  There is room.  Don't worry about it.

The SRs are given a chance to update their guest list a couple of weeks before PIR.

about PIR      i have a son who wants to go with us to the graduation  he isnt on the guest list    another relative is suppose to be going too so if neither of them get to watch the graduation my son will have someone with him in the visitor room  the question is this   if the relative doesnt go, will they let him in to watch the graduation and let me sit in the visitors room  i am on the list  he isnt old enough to stay by himself in the visitors room  he will be 13

Yes, that is correct since they are 12 and under...only need birth certificate or social security card.  They also don't count as part of the 4 on your SR's guest list because of their ages, so if others want to attend, you would have room!

diannep - sorry I did not get to it earlier. I have been busy. Wanted to make sure of my kids going to PIR. All they need is a SS card correct? I have 2 going, one is 12 and one is 8.
