 Not sure if any one knows but if your sailor encounters a problem, is it better to use a Navy lawyer or an outside lawyer.

i'm the asthma girl. i'm angry right now. my guy is beyond disappointed and depressed. one week from PIR today and he's passed every test. i don't understand. neither does our recruiter.

TFAN2...you dear, sweet lady!...I am sending somebody over with a recruit who has been diagnosed with asthma...hope she comes over here...just wanted to give you a heads up. Thank you for staying on here when you don't reall have too.

Ship 5 is also where they house THU Sailors. Here is an excerpt from RTC website about THU:

THU Sailors are Sailors who have graduated from Recruit Training Command and are awaiting follow-on orders to their A school. The reasons  for placing a graduated Sailor on hold can vary from clearance issues to the need for special physicals. Sometimes it is as simple as waiting for a class to fill up.

These Sailors, however, are not just waiting around. THU Sailors follow a daily schedule. Many THU Sailors maintain work assignments while awaiting their follow-on orders, to include: manning the Ship, acting as escorts for recruits transiting to medical or legal appointments, or performing office duties at locations throughout the base.

THU Sailors are housed in separate compartments from separating recruits, with males on the lower deck and females on the upper deck.

THU Sailors also enjoy more liberty time, and are permitted to leave the base for recreation or visiting with family members. They may call home in their freetime.

I searched alphebetically or a THU group...sorry, no go. I then typed it in and get 72 pages!

Is he just there waiting to go to "A" school?

@proudmom2011: Let me guess the recruiter told him not to mention this??? We hear that alot. Almost everyone that see's a psych is discharged right away even one poor boy who went in for a knee injury got depressed was sent to a dr and was sent straight home. Did something happen to make this surface was there an issue or episode maybe?? Or did he just admit it when going through indoc or at moment of truth??? I think they are just concerned that something could happen while underway at sea and he wouldn't be able to get the necessary help. Just try to get ahold of the Legal Dept. today and get those forms signed if you can't get through to them right away then call the Public Affairs Office and tell them you need to speak to your son because you need details about this discharge, hopefully your son calls you they get to use the phone and computer everyday so I hope you get the information your needing and if not just post and someone may be able to help you out because trust me I do not know it all :-) wish you good luck today.

     i have no idea what papers he has signed or not.  i know he talked w a social worker and an attorney.  i have tried to reach someone on the ship that can help answer my ??s but not having much luck.

mike was diagnosed w anxiety, depression and adhd when he was 12 or 13.  we struggled w minor behavioral problems off and on in middle school.  we hit rock bottom one weekend and took him to the local hospital and he was admitted for observation.  spent about 4 days and then followed an out patient program successfully.  we then optioned him out of a lrg middle school and sent both boys to a d size school.  mike took off educatio9nally speaking and extra curr. no med since 09 and now they navy wants to say hes not fit to serve the navy.

@Proudmom2011: We really are here to help but you need to explain the situation so that we can why was he sent to ship 5 and has he already been to legal to sign his seperation papers? Did he tell tehm he wants to appeal? Has he signed releases for medical and legal so that they will speak to you about it? Please ask us what ?'s you have and help us help you by explaining the situation. Take a deep breathe and keep your cool you can't do anything good by stressing out but you need him to do those 2 releases ASAP and if he hasn't call them and tell them you want him to call you and you want him to sign releases.
