They are in ship 5 because they are in the process of being discharged. There is still legal.and medical to go through. Now, if you appeal (if whatever he is being recommended for discharge for is appealable) he will stay in ship 5 during the that also.
So, my answer is...it depends. We have to wait and see what the issue is. :o

jsc- I don't blame you...hang in there...he must have just went over. I am glad your recruiter keeps in touch with you.

The only thing we can do at this point is wait until the AM when you can call legal back. Have them advise your son about signing a waiver so that they can speak with you more. At least they talked to you already. If it is medical he will need to sign a HIPPA (I think it's supposed to be HIPAA?) release so you can talk to medical about his case.

Tfan-What is the letter after the three as in "RE-3#". There should be a letter. Then I can look it up.

I know it is personal stuff so private message me. If you can please tell me what boxes 23,24,26,27 and 28 say. I will not tell a soul! If I need an answer about why one looks that way I will not use any names. I am still new to this and am getting help!

Fireteamleaderwife....we are at the airport waiting for Andy...his flight was delayed cuz the plane was broke..LOL...he will be hm very soon than God. When I talked to Andy this afternoon he said that his papers say the RE 3 code but then underneath it says, can not re-enlist. Any ideas on why that would be????

Proudmama is right - please call legal and speak to them. You need to get your son to sign the waiver for you to be involved. I don't like the mental thing. We need to find out EXACTLY what reentry code the want to use BEFORE he signs his DD-214 (discharge papers). Because if it is incorrect...you need to fight it. I know I hear that SHIP 5 is depressing and more, but this is his career and future we are talking about. It took guts and perserverance to get into the Navy, he can do it to stay in and/or reenter.

I will try him tomorrow I do have access to his info I called a diffrent number and they said they where not sure why he was there and my sone is a little confused also he thought he was going home do to his back but he keeps being told mental I hope they can explain he has not seen anyone in legal yet

Nakita, call legal in great lakes the # is 1-847-688-4949 ext 228 you will reach Mr Senko and if your son signed a waiver he can discuss things with you.You can appeal this decision but don't know how your outcome will be. From what I hear from everyone ship 5 is awful.If your son wants to be there he can try to fight it.Talk to your son about this he will be able to call everyday now.Goodluck!!! -Ruth
