Thanks srm54...I was doing research all day long, I called legal at GL and they did return my call.They have my son coming in tomorrow morning and they are going to call me while he is there so I can find out definate whats going on and get all my questions answered (hopefully).I do know which discharge code it should be. Ruth, my son went to BC in September and was sent to ship 5 in October. He had problems with his hearing that wasn't caught in MEPS. It will take some time for him to go through the process of separation so he could be there for a while. He can appeal the separation, although I am not sure how successful that process is. The hardest part about this entire thing is the time in Ship 5. They have a lot of time on their hands and they are confused and not sure what to do. If you wish to get more information have your son sign a waiver so you can talk to legal and find out what is going on. If you son wishes to rejoin after being separated make sure he has the proper discharge code. I'm sorry, I don't remeber what is good and what is bad cause it's been a while. I'm sure someone here has better information or you can do a search. The important thing is to help your son realize there are other options out there for him. They can get very depressed because they have put so much effort into joining the Navy. Help him create a plan for the future. Good luck and God Bless. He will get through this with your help.

Hi my name is Ruth,my son Zach was in BC and went to medical due to chest pain,he said they did some tests but when he called he couldn't remember what they said it was.Unfortunately they are in the process of seperating him from the navy because of it.This was a shocker to us because my son didn't have any health issues before he left.N4Ms has been a god send to me and when I posted this today one of them sent me here.Any info would be appreciated!

lol  Yeah, I know it'll be hard!  My mom said she'd watch them if we were married... but I'm afraid I'd lose some of my disability payments if we were married, so it makes more sense to wait until we're financially stable.  She won't watch them even explaining that to her though. :(    Oh well!  His mother said she'd help us figure things out, even if it means her staying in another room with the kids. lol

Would you believe I've been with my husband for over 18 years and we've never been alone? hahahaha. We've never been away alone. When I met him my son 'KC' was 15 months old. So, we got married with my son and went on our honeymoom with my son. Then we had more children and next thing ya know, it's been 18 yrs. I have a feeling it's never gonna happen b/c we still have little one's. So good luck with that!!!!

I'm so happy.  He calls every day! :D  I keep watching to see if he can get online.  He hasn't yet, but hopefully he will soon! We're tryin' to plan a getaway once he gets home, but it's hard with my two kids.  I need to find someone to watch them.  He wants to get home by the 4th of July, but I doubt that's gonna happen.  lol  I'm hoping he gets home that week though!
