As soon as they legal is done with their paperwork and have a date it is turned over to transportation. I would call legal and tell them you want to pick them up and have them help you. The girls in that department were very helpful. It was in transportation that I had the most trouble. The guy I spoke to thought everything was a big joke and my son didn't get a chance to call me until he we at our airport.

I know of several people that have picked their kids up.  Of course you can.

My daughter came home in August.  She was not allowed outside except to go to chow.  That's what she complained about the most. She would stand by the door to open it for others just to get fresh air.

i'm sorry to hear that. my sr was in ship 5 also. just came home tuesday! he is doing great and happy to be out. does not want to go back but was issured RE-8. its going having him back and he went in on 2/23. hang in there. it will all be okay in the end. he will want to sleep alot when he gets back and just walk out on the street. the first day my bf said he wanted to just walk on the side walk, just because he could. they don't let them out much when in RTC. he said the most he was outside his entire time there was a total of 2 minutes. so just be patient and talk to him as much as you can. mine got to call me everyday.

My son came home in October.  He also had an issue with his eyes.  This is a very hard time for them.  I wish you the best.  If I can be of any help to you please feel free to contact me.

has anyone heard from the SR this weekend??? mine was calling everyday up until saturday. he didn't call yesterday and last weekend he called early sunday morning and i still haven't heard anything. hope everything is okay.

SAwife- my son was sent to ship 5 on Feb 10th and finally came home on Feb 24th. He originally was separated due to his childhood asthma but while there volunteered to talk to a psychologist about his feelings of what was happening to him. He said that was a mistake because they then labeled him with a personality disorder and changed him from medical to psychological.  I think they label them with blue for medical and orange for psych. He said he was called names after this which made things even worse. He says he is fine now that he is at home but I still want him to go see a psychologist just so we can put this label behind us. There is nothing wrong with him and never has been. It's amazing how much they can mess up these young men in such a short time.

okay ladies! so my SR hasn't received any of my letters! I sent them on 2/25 and 2/26. but i sent him to his original ship 03 because i didn't know he was sent to ship 5. is it normal for them not to have received his letters? He went in 2/23. 

 

i haven't sent him any more because he asked me not to since we get to talk on the phone everyday for about 30 minutes or more.
