i hope the commanding OFFICER sees my sons cases and says OMG this is a injustice send him back to bootcamp.

Hi I was reading your comment and I remember something similar on here from a little while back where a recruit was being separated for double vision. He was granted a second opinion appointment and was found to not have double vision and was returned to training. Look back to about page 15 of the comments. The recruits mother's name is nikkosmom. Hope this helps you. There's at least 7-8 pages with comments in relation to this.

Beth - I agree, we want a career for our daughter too- not just a job. Their dreams have been crushed.

While I was trying to get her bank account set up, I was told of a teller position at the bank. She has an interview as soon as she get home. It has a good starting salary & benefits. The best thing is that this bank promotes from within - the VP that is interviewing her started as a teller.

I hope his appeal goes well.

I do want to make a comment that I think they are trying to scar the kids into thinking there is no way appeals are overturned so why file one. He told me that no one has won a appeal. I told him this is not true. People are trying to scar you so you dont appeal ....i told him to think about his future and what this could do negative.

Thanks for the info. I just hope my son files a appeal/second opion.
This is taken away my sons dreams. And mine dreams for my son to have
a career not just a JOB. and to service his country.

I wish MEPS would have stopped it too. She has no desire to try again. When she called Sunday, She was so upset. She said this has been taken from me and I could have done it. We are setting up job interviews for when she gets home. She is going to have a long talk with her recruiter when she gets home.

I hope Jake can apeal or gets another chance.

Becky - We have gotten a call each day. Some days she has longer phone time & can call more than 1 family member. That's the only good part about it. I mailed some suduko (sp) puzzles in a letter. We will see if the books get to her. She was so down yesterday, it was worth a try and the expense of next day mail. I'm so glad I sent her off with a phone card and stamps. She has had some computer time & posted to FB. I am praying she get to go to the legal office today.

I bought a book on Amazon today and shipped it over night to my daughter. I hope that she gets it. She said she did not like the books that were there. There are 2 other SR's from my DEP Leaving in August that are being medically discharged. I hope their mom's join this group.

Yes, I just got off the phone with them. Each person's case has to go to several offices before they are allowed to leave. My daughter is waiting to go to the legal office - just that part (the first part) can take up to 5 business days.

I'm sure others can anwer your question better than I can, I'm learning so much from this site.
