Hey deedee F, we are neighbors! Our SR is married also with a 2 yr old and one on the way, he's been in a little over a year now and getting ready for a second deployment. Always hard on those that stay home! Feel free to reach out if you want to get together or talk.
Yolanda, so sorry to hear that this has been difficult for you. My son will graduate from BC in May and still has A school to attend. I am also dreading the day he is stationed some place in the world. I hope not a sub at least. I am in Torrance and go to Disneyland frequently (passholder) maybe I can meet you sometime at downtown Disney for lunch or something. This is all new to me still, but I am already feeling the loss. Never been to a meet up, but would love to attend one. Hang in there!
Deedee, I totally understand how you feel. No matter how old they are they are still your baby. My daughter has been in the Navy for almost 4 years in June. Luckily for me she is stationed in San Diego. Although she is close by she has alternating work schedules that keep us separated. She keeps busy with her toddler and alot of military family functions. I hope that all will work out well so that he can PIR soon.
Happy Easter to you and yours! Praying for all the military who can't be with family today.
Hmmm, looks like we are all pretty spread out, but at least we are all in the lower region of our beautiful state!! We can still share any of our concerns here. My daughter is fresh out of boot camp and was in hold for only 2 weeks before classing up in her A school, so I am pretty new. I provide scriptural support in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones), a few current PIR groups, IT, Sailors in Pensacola, Mom's of Navy Daughters, and Christian Chat.
I am in Dana Point. We had a pretty good group when I lived here before. We met a couple of times and were going to try to meet at least every other month. Hope the group hasn't lost contact. My son is on the USS Ingraham and will be going to the Naval Post Graduate School in September.
Hi KatK!! Maybe we can reactivate this group? Where are you located? I'm in the Inland Empire. My daughter just started her IT classes in Pensacola.
Hi SO CAL moms! I moved to NO CAL in 2011 and now I'm back. Please add me to any meet and greets and hope to catch up with you all.
