Bobstersmom - No need to worry.  Our boys said BS21 was a piece of cake and actually alot of fun.  They are given a walk thru at each part and told exactly what to do - my son said one kid fell asleep during BS21.  The hard part is waiting for the phone call afterwards.   That means you have PIR this Friday?!  Bring plenty of tissues!  The ceremony is awesome!  I hope you are doing well, hang in there, BootCamp is almost over - then the other journey begins.  HooYah!

Be ready for that call "Sailor" call.  I pray the weather cooperates for you to get to PIR.

My prayers are going for all of you and the Sailors.  I have been sharing the stories with my son about deployment this week since we inevitably will be facing the same next year.  One of the fellows that graduated Corpsman school with him called on Monday afternoon so between talking to him, and the returning Corpsman, he knows full well of what is ahead of him.  I dread it so and thank God for all the support we have in this group.

Japan? Oh wow my daughter would be in heaven. It's just an excuse for you to go get your passport and visit!

Welcome MWD Mom!! You are now a part of the best Navy Sisters in the world. I will keep your son and his family in my prayers as well.

Okay Susan, we are all crying now. Your post was so touching and I could feel the pain. We have become so close that I feel as though I have a lot of sons that I have not met yet. I will pray that he comes home soon and stay safe.

Well Louis just text me to tell me that he changed his orders. He is requesting Japan. He said one of his shipmates arrived in Japan 4 days ago and sent him a few pictures on Facebook. He said that he was 'sold' on going there instead of San Diego. I tried to be supportive and I am glad he text me because he would have heard the disappointment in my voice. I was hoping he would not go to Japan. I hear it is beautiful but I don't want my son there. Too far from me. I can't visit often. You think that is why he really chose it:) What do I do now?

Susan:my heart breaks for you!!  It is hard to have a child out on deployment, I know all too well.  The fact that your son is a "boots on the ground sailor" it's that much harder for them and us!!  I will keep your son in my thoughts and prayers for a safe return!!!

Connie: Wow it seems they all have the same thoughts of it "just being in a days work", my so has said that very same thing about his deployment to Iraq and his pending deployment to Afgan. in a few weeks.  Hang in there we're all here for you. I will kee-p your son in my thoughts and prayers as well!!

Thanks for the welcome!!!  Yes it will be hard for him to leave the wife and baby but as he says he has a job to do and he is going to do it!!!  I know having his wife and baby here will make things easier for us, I just hope for him too, he knows they will be well taken care of between us and her family!!  His first deployment he had to leave a brand new bride in HI!!!  I know he worried about her then, she had been there two weeks when he left!!!  I hope I can be a support to others on here!!!!  Thanks again for the warm welcome!!!  Also if any of you SC moms would like to try to meet up some where, please count me in!!!

Oh Susan -  I'm sitting here and crying with you.  My prayer is that your son will make it back safe.  It takes a special person, to put all his differences aside and render aid to the others.  May God bless and keep your son in the palm of his hand, until he is safely returned home.  Hugs to you my friend ~
