Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Space A Travel Eligibility
Ok, this is a very important link and I hope it stays valid if I forget to update it. Just so everybody knows, legal dependents are now allowed to travel Space A while their military sponsor is on deployment orders. If you don't know what this is it is very simple. You can fly at little cost almost anywhere in the world on a government aircraft. You sign up on a list and wait for your number to be called. So, if your sailor is deployed to say, Japan, you can jump on a Space A flight to Japan for say 30 dollars. I don't know the exact amount, but it is cheap. Take a look at this, Google Space A travel, you will get all the answers you need. If you have more questions, ask.

Barbara<3AMFRCNW- so what should he do??? he is having problems as well with his mtis and giving him a hard time. my hubby is an am as well! i am preg and due in a few weeks. do u have any advice or anything like that on what he can do. he thinks if he even asks for the paperwork that they wont even give it to him. who actually approved his brown bag? did he end up getting in alot of trouble.

My hubby didn't have such a hard time getting his brown bagger as Barbara but is given grief by some of his POs for it almost daily. Apparently some of these people don't think you should move your family down here but we argue that when we do get permanent orders he may get deployed right away so why waste will end up being 8 months here in Pcola by not being here. They say that families are a distration but I say be persistant and that each barrick and each PO treats it differently so do what's right for your family.

Finally, it took two weeks but my wife's brown bagger chit came back today! Now she can finally live at home.

My sailor just got to PCola yesterday. They have already started phase 1, so does anyone know how leave time and liberty works during these phases? We are wanting to get married asap!
