Space A Travel Eligibility
Ok, this is a very important link and I hope it stays valid if I forget to update it. Just so everybody knows, legal dependents are now allowed to travel Space A while their military sponsor is on deployment orders. If you don't know what this is it is very simple. You can fly at little cost almost anywhere in the world on a government aircraft. You sign up on a list and wait for your number to be called. So, if your sailor is deployed to say, Japan, you can jump on a Space A flight to Japan for say 30 dollars. I don't know the exact amount, but it is cheap. Take a look at this, Google Space A travel, you will get all the answers you need. If you have more questions, ask.

Yeah, they phase up when they are waiting to class up. Holds can be long or short. My wife classed up before we thought she would. She classed up a week or two back now and we were told it may be longer, just got lucky I guess.

Yes, have him do the brown bagger chit when he gets to Phase 2. It should only take a week or two to get to phase 2.

We are working on brown bagger. Some say it is hard some say not, I think it depends on who their chief is.

On missing class, I understand it is a baby but I would advise against it. They are really learning a lot in a small amount of time. If he misses it may set him back.

okay so just when he is in phase two have him do the brown bagger and he will be able to stay overnight everynight? man that would be great! how long does it take to get to phase two?and is it hard to get approved for brown bag? and do u happen to know how they are on letting him miss a day of class or somthing if i go into labor during week. i am due july 13th for our baby?
Comment by jonwife on May 9, 2010 at 9:16pm
no overnight stays during phase 2. Only phase 3 can have overnights on the weekends. The every night is only wiht the brown bagger packet. You have to have special permission to have everynight overnight. Liberty is over during the week at 10 pm no matter what phase and 12 am on weekends for phase 2.

in phase two can he stay overnight on weekends? and phase three he gets to stayover every night??
Comment by jonwife on May 9, 2010 at 9:03pm
Phase 3 is usually a little more than a month after they get there as long as they pass all their qualifications. You can put the paperwork for brown bag in when he gets phase 2 and it took us 15 business days to get it approved. So now it's like it's just a regular job. he drives himself to work and then comes home every night. During phase 2 he can leave the base but has to be back every night. Phase 3 is when he can stay the night on the weekends. This may vary a bit depending on his rate because different rates have a bit of different rules but this is what we have gone through and my hubby is ATI.
