Here is a link that you will need to check out. It is a FAQ about PCS moves and what $$'s are available.

Space A Travel Eligibility
Ok, this is a very important link and I hope it stays valid if I forget to update it. Just so everybody knows, legal dependents are now allowed to travel Space A while their military sponsor is on deployment orders. If you don't know what this is it is very simple. You can fly at little cost almost anywhere in the world on a government aircraft. You sign up on a list and wait for your number to be called. So, if your sailor is deployed to say, Japan, you can jump on a Space A flight to Japan for say 30 dollars. I don't know the exact amount, but it is cheap. Take a look at this, Google Space A travel, you will get all the answers you need. If you have more questions, ask.

Hi there! I'm planning to move to Pensacola while my husband is attending his A school.

As I'm not moving all my stuff there, I'm planning to rent a furnished apartment (short term lease) for 3 months or so.

Do you recommend any condo in the area?

Any help would be great!

Thanks, Dany.

My sailors anchor- no the navy did not pay for me to move down. I just packed a suitcase and headed down on my own dime. We got an apartment off base since we can't live in on base housing. Feel free to message me if you have any questions or need suggestions where to live!

Also, Lyndsi- when I was there I lived in Austinwood. VERY close to base and pretty nice. It is a little expensive-but BAH should cover it just fine. I always felt very safe there-some areas of Pensacola are quite run down..

My husband says the only rate that would be in Pensacola for the Navy to possibly pay for a move is the ATI rate. In my experience, the navy did not pay for me to move, but I payed for myself to move down and we got BAH :)

No, the Navy will not pay for your move to Pensacola. You have to be there a lot longer for them to pay for it.

Christine - Did the military pay to move you to Pensacola? My husband is suppose to graduate from basic in August. I am hoping to move to Pensacola :).
