Hi youngeston.... Yes as a 6 year your son will attend a class in Great Lakes before coming out to San Diego. To give you an example of the timeline variance, my husband left for boot camp Jul 2011. Graduated Sept 2011, finished ATT in Great Lakes in Nov 2011, finished A school in San Diego in Feb 2012, and finished C school in San Diego in April 2013. Lots of factors determine the length of their schooling.

Kelly.... i've got no clue why i thought your son was ALREADY in boot... i've sent a friend request to you

HI Kelly,

I wish your son best of luck in BC.  I would caution you about estimating time frames for schools.... Holds are very unreliable!   If he is early in filling the class, he could wait for a long time (months).  If he is last to fill the class, he could start the next day.  No way of knowing.  The same for c school.

Barbydahlzz: my son leaves for BC on June 18th, I anticipate he should be in SD for A school in August. I believe STG school is 9 weeks (?). I have been reading as much as I can about both BC and STG so I can try and keep up with my son as he goes through the process. Also, I am super type A and I feel the need to know! Did your son day much about his A school experience?

Barbydahlzz: my husband was wondering what your rating was. He left Memphis in 1991 and was off to Italy.
