Right now we're still in San Diego. He is a 6year so he still has C school which starts at the end of May. We'll be here for another year at least before we find out his orders! Hopefully we get to stay though :)

Hi abuon18....  just got a txt from my sailor, said he's in week 2 of 4 week BAA part of school... he LOVES it there...

Comment by abuon18 on April 23, 2012 at 1:32pm

Hi barbydahlzz... BAA is just the second half of A school! It's for 4 yrs and 6 yrs since it is part of A school. (That is what my husband told me anyway... he is a 6 yr.)

Hi everyone... my son is in STG A school and almost done.. said he's coming home for 2 weeks of leave then goes back for OPS school.... WHAT IS BAA School??  is that for 6 yr contracts??  my son like everyone else is on an 8yr contract,  but 4yr active/ 4yr inactive reserve..

Ok thanks for the info! My SR is my boyfriend so I'd be okay with four years:) won't get my hopes up...he never did mention anything about the reserves though and his mom received all the paperwork and somewhere in there it said something about 4 years..not too sure of the details if you haven't noticed haha

It could be 4 years active and 2 reserves which could make a difference. My son has an 8 year contract. it is 6 years active and 2 reserves. He stayed in Great Lakes for @ 9 weeks after PIR and just arrived in San Diege last week for A school and is on hold now. Oh and congratulations to you and your SR!!!

Just joined the group! Saw previous comments about 4 vs 6 yrs. My SR graduates 4/27 then heads to SD the 28th...he said he is in a 6 yr contract but could it only be 4 years since he is going directly to SD?
