Romisproudmom- it depends if he ha a 4 year or 6 year contract. 4 years don't go to ATT they go straight to A school in San Diego. 6 years stay in Great Lakes for ATT. If he is a 4 year he gets liberty Friday after PIR. If he is 6 year he gets the whole weekend of liberty. Hope this helps and congratulations!

Hi. My son was a 4 yr. Stg. We were with him all day Friday. We knew he had to leave Sat. For San Diego he had to ne at the airport at 2 a. m. So we went to there then also. Our flihht left at noon. His lwft at noon 30. Our gates were right beside each other. We hung out with him until our flight left. Then he got to SD only to wait 3 months for A school to fill up. Oh well.

I didn't go to PIR as my son was yeoman and in the 900 (906) working div. He flew out to SD the next day. So I'm glad I didn't go. He grad on 12/22, I think, so the cost was way high to fly at Christmas time. We went to SD four times over the 14 months he was in classes. What a great place to be stationed! He had a wonderful time and we just love SD. PM me it you have any other questions.

Note to Romisproudmom, My son was four years so he went to SD right after grad from BC. During his "A" school he applied for six year. So what I am saying is if he signed up for six years initially he will stay in Great Lakes after BC. If he is four years he will head to SD right after BC. This was so confusing for our son until he left BC.
