My son is headed to Maypor, Florida  going aboard the USS Carney.                  Am I allowed to say what fleet he will be in?

I am very proud of him. He has worked very hard.

Congrats Donna!  Our son gets to come home for a few week in Aug. but he will still be in SD until mid November.  Than he joins his ship.  He will be based in FL. on the Sullivans.  Where is your son headed?

My sailor said good-by to SD and is on his way home for a short leave. He will leave for his first deployment very soon. He finished up number two in his class .02 pts behind number one. I am on my way to the airport to get him now. Can not wait to see him.

Thanks tmsy! I'm very excited to go out there-luckily I work for a hotel so I can get pretty good rates whatever time of year it is, I will probably be going out there around the end of Nov/beginning of Dec to start looking for apartments & jobs, and I'm so excited to check out the park and beach you mentioned! I hope you can get out to visit your daughter as well, is she in school there or stationed there?

Deb M... I am a bit techie challenged. I did what I thought you said to do but couldn't find ship names. I found their class but no links to the actual ships. Any help appreciated. SF will be on the USS Carney, an Arleigh Burke destroyer.

I can give you some names of people to visit while you are there.  Wives of Sailors.  PM me for info.  We stayed on Harbor Island and also on Shelter Island.  Both real close to the base. We flew SouthWest and got a real good deal for air and hotel.  We plan on going again so let me know what your plans are.  Maybe even with Molly's adopt a sailor in September.  WooHoo!!
