Congrats Gaile! That is awesome for your son. My son is a Nav ET!

Congrats to you and your son Paulette! That is what all sailors strive for in the first year on their boat. He will feel much more a part of the crew now.

My sailor and his sub (Olympia) are now on deployment. He said it will probably be 2 or 3 months before I hear from him again. The plans have changed from the original schedule, but that did not surprise me any. I am used to reading about how often things change from other moms on here.

Haven't shed any tears yet, but am pretty sure I will later, after not hearing from him for a while. It has gone as long as 4 weeks without contact in the past, so I should be okay for a while.

Have a great week!

Thank you Denise 2. Problem is the date for my son's deployment was moved up a week and I am not home to send anything else; I am on vacation. I hope his ombudsman can give me a heads up on halfway items so I can send something. I have forwarded pictures of family to him via email so he will have some to look at, but that is all I can do from here.

I am getting teary eyed about it now, but I know he will do well and be fine. I will just miss the conversations we usually have.

Thanks for keeping all the sailors in your hearts and on your minds. I will also.

Hello Submariner Moms! I hope everyone is having a great summer so far.

My sailor's sub is leaving for my sailor's first deployment within the next month (I think), so please keep the USS Olympia sailors in your thoughts and prayers for safety and protection. Thank you!
