Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by Mary, Proud Mom of Nick on December 15, 2008 at 9:37am: Have you heard about the "Blue Candle Lighting" being scheduled on Christmas Day? It is a way to honor those Sailors that will not be home for Christmas. What a nice tribute to our Sailors!

Please go to Events and click on Blue Candle Lighting, we are tracking how many candles will be lit in our Sailors' honor and where you are located.

Let's do this in our "Navy for Moms" style - can we get 9000 plus candles lit on Christmas Day?!!

Adam called while I was at work yesterday - looks like he maybe going to Japan? Since I didn't get to talk with him - all those 'Mom" questions didn't get asked (again) - so I know nothing - any help?
You are all wonderful. For those of you who are having your sailor's home for Christmas enjoy your blessing!

My favorite site for Navy "swag" (promotional stuff) is www.4armedforces.com.
Another source for FREE stickers, etc. is your local Navy recruiter! My car has a beautiful round, embossed with foil, Seal of the Navy sticker.

I want a sticker for my car - with the sub or silent service on it to show how proud I am of our sailor. We live in a small town - and well you know! I will admit that I've not spent a lot of time looking I get frustraited too easily - any suggestions? Thank you this is a great blessing for me. I'm sorry I waited so vey long.

Our FRG and Ombudsman are also very active and informative. The Omb. puts out a monthly newsletter which has an article from the captain (it's always very informative). The FRG had a dinner with silent auction to raise funds for a Halloween party for the sailors' children. They wanted services donated from crew members (the captain donated a car wash which sold for $40!) I donated being "Aunt-for-a-Year." I'm sending cards and little treats to a sailor in Iraq for a year, plus his picture is on our mantle next to Son's (just like a real aunt would do). Another way moms participated is the FRG had the idea to make holiday placemats for each crewmember, as a surprise. They were pleased at how many moms sent in mats for their sons. The FRG laminated them before getting them to the galley.
