My youngest son just graduated from Navy Boot Camp today!  We are so proud of him, as he joins his older brother in the Navy!

Just stopped in to say Hi.  Haven't been very active lately. My son is on the USS Texas now.  They are getting the boat ready for deployment late this year.  He has been in for over 10 years now and this is his 2nd boat.

Happy 21st Birthday to my son Nathan. I am very proud of him wish I could tell him in person for his birthday. Sent him a text and left voice mail. Hopefully he will get those when he surfaces again.  On the Newport News

CathBubblehead Mom, so glad you finally heard from your son. 2 months is way too long to go without any emails or phone calls! ((((Hugs)))

KKristen - My son's boats sea trials after a 3 year overhaul took about a year. He joined the boat in October 2014, the boat finally made it out of dry dock in February 2016, and left in February 2017 for its first deployment. I do not believe they will send it out until all of the systems check out.

LindaGirl - Heard from my son finally!!

CathBubblehead Mom, yes, we will be attending his PIR next Friday. Can't wait!!

I'm sorry if I led all to believe that the 1 year was hard and fast- that's what I get for answering in a hurry! Yes, each boat and circumstance is different, and if they haven't be underway it is almost impossible to achieve!

LindaGirl I am so happy for you and your son! Are you attending PIR? Enjoy it while he's at Groton - who knows, maybe he'll be stationed there.
