Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by Oceanslayer on April 25, 2017 at 6:24am: My son has been working on his quals since end of 2/16. His boat is in dry dock. It has been difficult . He and a few others requested a temporary assignment to another boat for 3 months that is underway. Last time I spoke with him sign offs are going much quicker. I have not heard anything about him being reassigned because it has been more than 1 year. They also sent him a few others from Norfolk to dive school for like 6-8 weeks. He graduated there and returned to his boat. He said it unusual to get to go to dive school before you earn your dolphins though.

Mindya- dolphins (or fish as they are referred to) are a qualification that a submariner MUST get within his first year. If he does not earn it, he will be reassigned. Submariners need to know every aspect of the boat and pass each station, then, there is a final review where he is asked questions on all aspects. Some of these quals can be done on land, but many can only be done underway. Hope that helps!
