The Dole Pinapple Plantation near the north shore is fabulous! Delicious Dole Whip! You have to have some. :)
Yvonne
Also I will be meeting two N4M members who will be there at the same time.
Thanks Yvonne. I am sure my son wants to take me to the Dole plantation. He loves it there and loves their fresh pineapple ice cream. Flea market??? Count me in on that one. My son said he can see the Arizona Memorial from his barrack.
CO-Twin, You will love Hawaii. If you're looking for things to see, make sure you go to the Polynesian Cultural Center. It's the most modest and complete aspect of all the Polynesian islands with lots to see in each village and also the Luau Dinner and show. And at the end of the night the show and fire dancers! Of course you should also go see the Arizona Memorial. And if you're into flea markets, on the weekends they have a huge one at the Aloha Stadium. All things worth seeing. :)

My son is on a sub out of pearl harbor and there is a closed FB group for Loved ones in Pearl Harbor submarine group. They check you out first before accepting you in as it is a closed and secure group.
My son's sub has just come off dry dock. I am going to Hawaii to visit and we are both praying he does not have an unplanned underway when I go.
HI Patricksmom, it's good to hear from you! My SIL has orders to report in early June. My daughter (his wife) will be on a carrier and it's so easy to find info on hers but this sub thing... Talk about silent! Any advice you can give me to pass on to the SIL about sub life? I've read all the articles on this page and there's so much to absorb.
Hi JayDee659! My son is on the Albany. I couldn't find any other groups either. They have been in dry dock for quite a while so maybe that is why. They are supposed to move out of dry dock soon.
Good morning, I am new to this group. My son-in-law has just gotten his orders for the Albany. The group for the Albany on N4M seems pretty silent for a couple years and I cannot find any FB groups or information about this sub on line, other than Wikipedia. Are there any mom's here who have a son on the Albany or any information you can share with me?
Thanks!
