Hi M.Nova - most likely your husband will be in BESS first (Basic Enlisted Sub School) that is 8 weeks give or take. Then depending on his rate there are a few schools before A school. By June, barring any major screw ups from his division, He should be able to get leave (liberty - I always get confused on these!) You don't say where you live - I believe in most cases there is there is a mile limit for traveling. I believe once he gets there, he can talk to someone about this.

My son got sick while in A school and it almost set him back for graduation. I believe leave would be granted, but depending on where he is in school, it may delay graduation.

Don't know if that was any help! They have more freedom at Groton and earn extended liberty - white, yellow and blue cards.

Hi there. My husband will be attending A school in Groton after bootcamp (mid March) and I was wondering if anyone would know how likely or unlikely he'd be granted leave for the delivery of our second child (June)? He'll be an MM, I just don't know for AUX or Weapons yet. Any and all help on the subject would be appreciated :) Thanks!

My sailor just returned from his first underway in almost 4 years.  He was on shore duty for 3-1/2 years (including C school).  He was very happy to be back in the water.

Hope everyone is doing well.

I haven't posted in a while but have been reading all the post.  My subber was married on 12/28/16 in a beautiful and magical ceremony.  We are so happy for them both. Happy New Year to you all and your sailors.

Hello everyone. I am back after being quiet for a few years! My oldest enlisted over 6 years ago and is still enlisted...currently deployed. I got so much support from my N4Ms sisters and have become good friends with our group that started out together. Currently I am preparing to send my youngest to OCS in February and would love to connect with any moms in that situation. I don't seem to be able to find an active current OCS group. Would love any help in locating one.
