I tried this, but only got Washington and Oregon...no Kentucky.  I asked to join that group, but it may not be the accurate one.  There isn't a group from Kentucky Grandmothers, so I'll have to take my changes.

Hi HokieMom - I think if you go to N4M and click on groups, then in the search box type in Kentucky you will find a group called Kentucky Mom, Girlfriend, Fiance or Wife.

Hope this helps.

I have been apart of this group for almost 3 years with 2 to go on this contract for my sailor. I don't post like I once did but I still enjoy the reminders and new questions that I read and learn from. As long as I am a sailor mom, this site would and will be a source of encouragement, so please don't delete me!

Please keep me in, too. I am another silent "reader, but not poster."

Please keep me. I haven't been active for a while because my son was on shore duty. He has just been assigned to the Texas so I will be more active again.

Hi to all. My sub son doing well. Just got lasik and now has 20/20 vision. No more glasses. He said though he will sort of miss them as they got him dates with the nerdy look, LOL.

fayegirrl4* I know what you mean about son not keeping you informed of the things he CAN tell you! My son is the same way but his sub has these great ombudsman (well, ombudswomen!!). They send e-mails, text messages to the family and keep us up-to-date on all kinds of stuff. They are there for us with whatever we need or need to know. I love them!! I know my son is an adult and has an important job on his sub but I'm still his mom and want to know what's up! These ombudswomen are my connection with him. Don't get me wrong, he sends e-mails when he can and if I don't answer fast enough, he's asking me what's up! They're back from being underway since September but he won't be home for the holidays which is fine with us. His fiancé broke off their engagement last Valentine's Day and there are too many memories here for him which I understand completely. He's in a good place right now. Back to laughing and being happy & goofy so I don't want him to have a set back, if you know what I mean! Just keep communicating with your son even if he can't tell you much. He needs to know he has loved ones at home who are waiting for him especially after long underways.
