For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by Mark on April 18, 2016 at 8:27pm: I arrived in Yokosuka (base near Tokyo) several hours before the first quake and felt nothing. Sub port calls are mostly made here, and the Mississippi arrived here a week ago (there was a public Navy news release). Some subs pull into Sasebo, on the affected island of Kyushu but well away from the impacted areas near the island's center. Sasebo is on an extreme NW tip of the island, and is OK.

Comment by mrsb on April 11, 2016 at 9:47pm: Well I had my son here for 3 sleeps and a wake up!! Not enough time for me but I'll take what I can!! He's doing great, was happy to be on land and sleep in a big bed. Wish he could have stayed longer but like Kevsmom said, as long as they come home it's a good thing!

Comment by Kevsmom93 on April 9, 2016 at 9:38pm: LindaGirl, wonderful news to hear your son is home, enjoy every precious second. Yes, they do tend to pop in and pop out. I'm with you, anytime I get to have them around is worth it. Can't blame them either, wanting to see their friends. Our Sailor has hit the grand age of 23 recently, we saw a huge change in his behavior last time home (2015). I think maturity brings with it an understanding of family time. Whereas our Marine who was 20 (now 21!) last time he was home was basically never to be seen...ha ha ha! And God Bless them for still coming home as long as they do that than no complaints here!!
