hello also to DawnB01!   Hope to meet you also at PIR, maybe we can get together at Sarge's Meet & Greet.  I have already met one mom on here that I now consider a good friend and she's going also!!!   My son sounded really that they had one of the first women to be on a sub!   He says that all of them are getting along really good and are trying really hard to work on some flags so they can carry them in at PIR!!!

Good morning everyone!!!  Thanks Pat L. and yes I have already signed up for Sarge's meet & greet!!   Cannot wait to get there!!!!

My sailor's BC division was made up of mostly if not all submariners. He became good friends with several and their paths have actually ended up on the same boat.

Amy L and Dawn BO1, Try to go to Sarge's Meet & Greet on Thursday night. Then you will be sure to meet each other. I go up there periodically to talk and hand out brochures for Molly's Adopt A Sailor. It is lots of fun to meet the new Navy families and Sarge has lots of great tips to make PIR easier to navigate!

Hi Amy L - I'm so glad to hear that she other submariners in her division.  I was wondering whether or not she did.  She is also suppose to be Sonar, but that might change to ET-Nav.  Not sure.  She will be headed to Groton after graduation too.  I didn't know that they had gotten a ribbon, or is it an individual ribbon.  I didn't get a call this past weekend which really stinks, but maybe next weekend.  So far as I know they told her at MEPS that she was the first female submarine recruit to head to GL. I know that the two others from our area were headed out on Monday.  Sounds like she is in good company. I hope we get to meet at PIR.

Hello everyone!   Haven't been on in awhile but do get everyone's update and wanted to say thanks to all for everything!   I get lots of great information!!!   Did want to say hey to DawnB01, I did get a phone call from my son on Saturday!   Love getting that call but HATE having to say goodbye!!!   He did tell me that he had one of the first female submariners in his division!!!!   He is doing Sonar Technician and will be going to Groton CT when he graduates!  They are all looking forward to firearms training this week, my son was hoping to get another ribbon!!!

Thank you Kevsmom.  We are very proud of our daughter.  She has always been one of the best parts of our lives and knowing that she felt comfortable enough to make this decision means we've taught her well.  It's funny that we know what a pioneer she is, but she doesn't see it that way.  She has never really been a person who gets excited about too much, so she doesn't see it like we do.  Maybe that will change when she gets to sub school in Mid-August.  :)
