Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

We have had lots of snow and ice here in the Tri Cities. Brrrrrrr. Soooooo cold! It has been beautiful, though. It was a beautiful white Christmas. My Navy son and his Navy fiance got married a few days before Christmas while they were both on leave. They will initially have a long distance marriage....sigh, she in Norfolk and he in PCola.
Looking for warmer temps this weekend....gotta say goodbye to Dollywood for the winter on Saturday!

Cathy, my daughter is on the Carl Vinson. This is her first deployment. She is an AE but is doing another job now because she is so new.

if u have to go out in this winter wonderland be careful, I know alot of u Navy moms are counting down the days until your sailor will be home, this will be our first year without Kyle so the emotions are up and down, we will get thru it, we know he is with a great family that has taken him in as one of there own. Just joined and saw this forum for TN Moms..... I am new to all of this..... my son was sworn in on Wed and I an overwhelmed with emotions.... I am a native Cali girl, who moved to E. Tenn 3 yrs ago..... my boy will be leaving for BC sometime in Feb. Any advise?
