For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Prayers of comfort and strength to the family of the recruit. Incredibly tragic and sad. Cece, you are absolutely right, never take each day or our blessings for granted. Give thanks always!
tackijacky - thank you! I hate to hear about the death of a recruit and my prayers are with the family. It is just so scary to hear things like that and you don't know who or how or anything. I hope we hear something.

Hello Mom's! I am from Houston area. My son just left on Monday 1/9/12 for BC. Still in the grieving process but very very proud. Anyone in my area, between Houston and Galveston. Would love to hear from you.
I am so sad to hear about the recruit. I can't imagine what happened. I sure hope we can hear about it when they find out.
Just shows us that we need to live every day to the fullest as if it were our last day on earth. Love, kindness, patience, etc.
I'm in Odessa but in Midland County. We will probably be coming to San Antonio to see him and also a dance competition for my daughter March 8-10 at UTSA.

Has your daughter looked into the USO? ome are even locat in airports. Another Mom hd this problem and tat is what she found help with transportation. Just a thught
