OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Kimberly, glad Andy is better.  My sailor got back on shore Wed.  We've had several talks, and he sounds great.

I think in the recent past we have had the problem with opening the Navy Mom Account to find adds. Just make sure everything is official Navy for Moms and you can't go wrong. Andy called today thrilled his doctor is going to release him next month back to full duty if his foot still looks this good. Thank you for your prayers

Elaine, thanks so much for your advice.  I'm relatively new to our group.  I receive e-mails when some comments on the Texas Navy for Moms and click the link to see what's up.  If I understand correctly, it'd be best to activate "Stop Following" and go direct to the website to check.  Thanks again for a good warning to all of us.

debschnell, anything that is sent to your email that says "Navy for Moms" never open it. It is usually spam and you should only be getting email if someone posts a comment on a site that you are active on. Go to the site and check and see if what was sent to your email is on there.  If you have posted a comment and forget to hit the "Stop Following" below the comment box then you will get emails whenever someone else posts on that site. Many moms have learned this the hard way. I no longer open anything in my email that says "Navy for Moms". Delete, Delete, Delete.

Brenda Sue --- I had an e-mail dated early this morning from "Navy for Moms".  When I opened it it was a coffee business opportunity, and my computer froze.  Do you know what this is?  Is it spam?

I caution everyone to be careful about opening this e-mail until we sort this out.

Been having computer problems so haven't been on to thank the organizers for the absolutely wonderful and inspiring San Antonio dinner.  It was an honor to have dinner with the Navy and to meet some of you Navy Moms.  I'm ready for another get together somewhere.
