Thank you sailorsam. I need all the encouragement and faith right now. We only have 2 weeks left and it seems to be getting nerve racking bc he has not passed.

04harleyswife-mark the calendar. I never received so many letters in one day but I remember receiving 2 in one week. That made me happy. So glad you got to see him in pictures, too. Those performing divisions are kept really busy the last few weeks before they PIR.

b4g-I had this discussion with another mom. The only thing I can remember (a minor senior moment) is "deployment" is when they are on a ship homeported in the U.S.and it goes out for 6-7 months. Overseas I believe they call it "being underway". Kat, was it you I had this discussion with? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Here's a kind of dumb question ...is it only considered a "deployment" if they are overseas or out of the country?
Comment by Diana (Proud Navy Mom) on September 1, 2011 at 2:18pm

Thanks for all the "welcomes"!  I saw my son at swearing in this morning and he is flying to BC this evening.  Now I wait for the call tonight and the box and letter after that.  I hope these 8 weeks fly by but I know they will be so hard.

You guys at Navy4moms make it alot easier.
