I have just joined this group because I never knew it existed!  My son has been in for almost 7 years.  He is on his 3rd deployment.  He seems to enjoy it, but also looks forward to coming home afterward. You have so much to look forward to in these next few years.  You will be his sounding board when he's frustrated, but just listen and wait because he will get over whatever it is that's bothering him. We don't have much experience with military life.  My brother in law was a helicopter pilot in Viet Nam, and my dad was in the Army Air Corps band in WWII, but other than that this is a whole new experience for us!  My parents are buried at the DFW National Cemetery.

Anyway, you hang in there and be there for your sailor!

Yes it is a lot to absorb but it I'd helping. I have felt so alone and lost since my SR has left.

04harleyswife-there are lots of moms in the North Texas area. I noticed you just joined N4M in the last couple of days. Lots of info to absorb. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Eaglemom has been here the longest, I think. She is a wealth of information. We laugh, cry, and vent on this site. We also plan get-togethers and if you can come, we have a great time. I have been "in" for a year. My son PIR'd last October and is getting ready to go on deployment again by the end of the year. Welcome, and have a great day.

Diana: Hello and welcome to the club. We are all in this together, some of us are new, some are almost through boot camp, and there are some ladies here that have been here for years. There is a wealth of information here and alot of support. Trust me you will need it :-). So welcome aboard.

Good Morning Ladies! Getting ready to take the hubby to Austin so he can catch a flight to GL to see our son for the Labor Day Weekend.  Wish I could go, but I think they need some Dad-Son time so I'll stay here and pray for Rain!

Not counting down the days until my son leaves! He leaves for RTC on the 6th. I am so glad I found this site though because it has helped answer alot of my questions so I am more prepared for what is coming up.

Happy Hump Day Texas!

@Pnut - I will be sure to ask him this weekend. Hopefully, he knew her by her nickname and not because of trouble..LOL
No he hasn't had any trouble at Tinker, that I know of?!?
