bn4givn ~ wow your roller coaster ride from BC is just about over. PIR is an awesome event! Be sure to arrive early for GREAT seating and don't forget the tissue. I still get goose bumps from the first vision of seeing My Sailor Son marching in with his DIV. He was the Guide On (held division flag and guided them everywhere). Proud Momma here just the same as you will be on 4/22.

Do they still wear their dress blues or has the season changed and now they wear dress whites? My son's PIR was in January when they wore their dress blues ~ it was a breathtaking sight, but I'm kinda partial to dress whites :D

QuiltBlue- Congrats to you and your son!! Sounds like an amazing experience- one I am looking forward to sometime in July when my son finishes OCS. He just left SA on the 2nd and I am missing him like crazy!! This is the longest we have ever gone without talking to him! I'm sure he is fine . Anyway, congrats again!!!

Just back from PIR and seeing my Sailor! I am so exhausted, but so happy that he now has his computer and his cellphone so we can talk, text and skype with him!  Oh his portraits are just amazing!  I can't wait to get a fantastic frame to put the big one in!  He forgot to order the Keel book or the DVD, so my husband is ordering that right now!  What an amazing day Friday was! He was a Saturday departure (left for airport at 2am), but we met him at Midway Airport 7am and took the train into downtown Chicago. Had breakfast, walked around, he had real hot chocolate at the Hershey Store and we bought him some candy (he ate it all). Everything they serve at BC is sugar-free (which he refuses to eat or drink) so he has had a very bland/basic diet for eight weeks! Got his address for Nuke A-school tonight with the message to send goodies!  Also, wanted to share that I took my mini-quilt (like my profile photo) which he said he recognized the minute they came marching into the hall! He said I didn't have to keep waving it at him, because he knew exactly where I was!!!  That made my day and it was full of tears too!!!!  Amazing, I will never forget!

SueS ~ currently he is at PNAS for A-school. Tentative graduation in early May. He should receive new duty station orders in another week or so. He is ready......

Good morning ladies....Texas here!

Warm & humid here for now (Htown) but thunderstorms to roll in this afternoon and bring cooler temps....we are suppose to get down to the 40's tonight....

Enjoyed date night last friday and my ritas too! Daughters said I was funny to talk to when I got home... :-)

Talked to R on Saturday since his birthday is coming up next week. I wanted to know what he wanted or needed....got hit with a ton of bricks...he said he wished for a plane ticket HOME!!! Did nothing but cry the rest of the conversation...he said it was too late to put in for chit :(
He stated that it would have been nice but no big deal...I told him it was to me! My heart was aching ALL weekend.

He did call me again last night with a few suggestions that sound feasible. Actually sending him a care package today of personal items and goodies. Will send him his birthday package next week and then Easter package the following week.

You think he will know that I miss him and love him after all that?!? Yeah, I know he does :-)

Overall had a very busy weekend...shopping!! Always puts a smile on my face. Even did a Zumba class to relieve some stress and it was fun!

HAPPY Monday everyone!
