Happy Thursday every1.....

@Mattsmom - do I understand correctly that they don't have to renew their state issued drivers license since they have a military ID?

my3sons we were told on driver's license you don't have to worry as long as you have your military id, I called the state about the inspection sticker and they said not every state has a yearly inspection and if he was in the military don't worry and on the tags I didn't bother checking because like you said it will come to the home address so that is easy to take care of.

My3 sons, My son has had his truck in Virginia for three years now.  Although, he has driven it home once - I don't think he got it inspected here.  I'll ask him - but he is deploying tomorrow - so it may be a while before I hear back.

Matt's Mom... good to know about the shuttle, I have a couple of mom's that volunteered to drive me, and that sounds like fun... with the baby I will be able to fly mid week, so that will help and I will start with Southwest.... with the deployment, I have no idea how trustworthy a date is? Any help here, once a date is stated is that pretty reliable? My son says they will go over in 'groups', so I presume his 'group' will have a departure date.... would that be reliable?

P3Mom we haven't decided on exact dates but we will be driving. My husband refuses to fly anymore.  I know from when I booked Matt's flight to come home at the holidays that I was able to get a much better price by calling the airlines directly.  He flew Southwest and it was by far the best price.  If you have the flexibility to leave any day of the week that would probably get you the lowest price.  Had he been able to leave on a Tuesday instead of Friday it would have been $500 less but it was the holidays.  He took the shuttle from the base to the airport and a round trip ticket on the shuttle was $66.00.  The shuttle is very punctual and if you call them to book your seat they will get your flight information and help you decide which shuttle time works best for you.  Good luck!

Matt's Mom.. when are you heading to WA. Do you know how the flight costs go... best time to fly? best airline for cost? etc I need to go for deployment and again for birth of grandbaby.... so i need to try for some cost effective flights.

Yeah Donna!  I am glad that you are going to visit Sam in SD.  I can't wait to plan my trip to WA to see Matt this summer.
