OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My son (stationed in Maryland) texted about 7PM central time yesterday that they had lost power; about an hour later he texted saying the emergency lights in the barracks had went out. They are out of it now. So I now wait patiently to hear from him this morning. I "feel" he is safe; I just need to stop the "Mom Nerves" from freaking out!!  (*sigh*)

Prayers for ALL our military.  Especially anyone on the East coast as Hurricane Irene seems to close in.
