I thought he would be going to San Diego for another school.  His last C school was there but he says he is going to Virginia for school ~ November.   Then coming home.  He told me on FB, and I said 'bout time.  Its been 2 Thanksgivings and 2 Christmas'.     But now I am getting a full time job instead of Part time.  Isn't that Murphy's law for ya?

He is still looking for a place to live since he got E-5 last year, and I thought since the Tsunami, things would be different.  I know it didn't hit there but, well, you know. !

I can't wait to hear my husbands voice again! Its been over a week now. We do get to email and chat on facebook quite a bit, but its not quite the same. I really can't wait either for them to get some news about pulling in that's solid. I don't want to know the day before that I'm leaving the country! Who knows though. I guess waiting for something let's us know we've got something good worth waiting for :)

Kathy, great link!  I had sent a pkg from Pepperidge Farm or whoever makes those meats and cheeses and nuts and fruits - anyhow, they had free shipping to the military.  So I asked him last time we talked if he even got it (he never says until I ask)  he said yes, but I gave most of it away.  He always does.  I usually would send snacks and hygiene/soap, razors, toothpaste, etc. products every month, and he would give most of the stuff in the pkg away saying, "Mom, we can get this stuff here, you don't need to waste your money".   I understand from your posts that may have changed.  Welcome to the new folks.  As if I wasn't busy enough, I have been going through hoops for the last year-- job searching and all the time and effort it takes to search.   I took a survivor job last March.  Its been mucho difficult this last year, but I got a job offer and may be starting next week.   I heard that my son has his cell phone and maybe can call until Thursday, so I'm going to his FB page and say, "what are you waiting for?" LSHIP.  (laughed so hard I Pee'd.)

I think I'll be on here a lot because I keep such a crazy schedule. I have become used to planning my day around talking with him now I sleep at thee craziest times. We just got bad news today that they decided not to let him pay back a plane ticket they bought him when he came home on leave a few months ago and have him officially now until November :( Such a bad day. I'm keeping my fingers so tightly crossed they will at least give him all his leave days he has saved up. I'm still going out there in not too long and might stay for a month now! We still don't know. Maybe I'll get to meet some of your sailors!

Thanks! He is a fireman and a damage repair specialist. He just assigned down to hazmat and I don't know how you wanna say it or how but he does flight quarters too. Congrats on getting your daughter back close! That must be super exciting. My husband will be in 4 years as of November. He can't wait to get home and just waiting on word from big navy on a ballpark of when that is. Then he'll be home for good. This is a great group I think and great to have people to talk to and relate with. i can definitely agree with that motto! I try not to think about it to much because, well there's nothing we can go. My way of keeping busy today is checking out all the cool sites that make bracelets in one way or another for military. Found an awesome one that does those cord bracelets, one that does charms and keychains and all sorts of stuff! Think I found three winners for a necklace, bracelet and new keychain! Makes me super excited :)

Yeah I know not to get too open lipped. He doesn't even know, just tells me about the weather. It was pretty fun, though time just flew by. He is actually back to living on the ship because we got married and we now get BAH. I have never been but might be going in just under 2 weeks, that is if they ever pull in and find out if they'll still be in port next month. I am excited to go to see him of course, but so freaked out! Such a different place. He said the trains are something, he takes one 2 hours just to go get his tattoos! I know it'll be an experience I won't forget, if I make it....

Blondie check your inbox.  Also if your daughter does figure out who he is, tell her to call him Bert!  That will get his attention.

Oh I know, we don't need any sinking ships!! I just hear when they get mail, where he thinks they are, some rumors about pulling in. Nothing crazy or that I shouldn't know. We got married New Year's Eve in Las Vegas. He was home on leave in MN December 21st-January 9th and went there for a few days to meet a buddy of his who was on leave the same time and one guy who is already home. I live in the states right now in Minnesota. He is supposed to come home sometime this year but after a recent hurdle, we don't know when. There has even been talk of moving me out to Japan for a year. But who knows - not me and not him. One thing being a Navy wife has taught me is to be patient. It's definitely not an easy task.

Thanks :) It is a great feeling to know not only is their support, but for where your loved one is. I've been reading some of the posts here and feel almost guilty of how much I get to talk to my husband. I get to hear lots about the ship and what not so if anyone is ever wondering anything, feel free to ask and will help if i can.
