I love seeing all the pics from this deployment, it just seems weird that Katie is not on the ship!! She is doing well in her C school though.

Thanks Linn, I've been following my google alerts and downloading pictures from Jan 09 to now from the BR. There's one in port with the Uss McCain in the background. I've found lots on FlickR and Flickriver.
Kathleen, how are things in Corpus?
Molly, the USS Carl Vinson just got done with all their missile quals and such, but you're speaking to the subs, right?

Yes Linn, we had the same plans. If Patrick had another school for updates and more conversions in San Diego, I would find a way to go somehow. But he's not being sent, and I guess ships going into Dry dock after this last go. I did enjoy the pics of her next to Patrick doing the pollywog photo op!!!

Welcome. Got a call last night. It has been ~ a year since I've seen my sailor, and he said it would be another year on top of that. Not coming home this year. If I had my job I had 3 years ago, I'd be going, but times are tough, and hubby drives 4 hrs for one job- back in opposite direction to teach classes. I'd get a 3rd job, (strong work ethic! LOL) but I must go North of Houston to look after both my folks once a week as you know.
Would someone take me in their duffle bag with them????

It puts things in perspective. You can see one of the CIWS above the words USS BR, and I have seen them in San Diego at his C school. Its humongous, so I try to imagine what it would be like next to her. Plus, when these pictures are taken with an intensive zoom, it really shortens up the ship. So I like wide full length ones too.

Sigh. Double Sigh......
